She prefers men older than herself, I think it might be the same for the majority of couples to be honest to prefer men of similar age or older. You got to remember, a lot of older women have kids your age, so don't take it personally.

I don't seek out younger guys but maturity is a big part of it. If someone is younger but carries theirselves like an adult, age isn't an issue.

It's not about age it's about their maturity.

There's some very immature 40+ year olds on here.

Best meet in recent years has been with a 25 year old. Attentive, unselfish, nice equipment, clean shaven.

The main putoff of that age is the comedy beards and tracksuits. I like someone who makes me laugh, but not because their facial hair tickles me.

The comments about maturity are really interesting.

Probably why people think the ‘you’re really mature for your age’ or ‘you seem way older than your age’ comments are compliments and not condescending.

I’ve spoke to younger women that are mature enough to engage with me well enough to turn me on. I’ve also erm and spoke to very immature younger women who do nothing for my sexual craving. It’s not the number they carry but their personality that attracts me.

Big there is an bottom age where I’d say is in the back of my mind that won’t go away and is a definite no.

I get that, but would you say it's in excess of older men saying those types of things if there was a comparison? I think maturity comes in all ages and it's mostly to do with personality.

Totally agree on the personality yes, but folk are always going to have their own natural preferences too. Hence the age range settings on here or we'd all just be using the 18-99 one Of course that doesn't mean it's always set in stone though

That’s really not the case at all.

However when I was in my 20’s I was pretty mature. I had a house and bills to pay, I had my son when I was 24. So of course I’m aware that many of you have a job and pay bills.

When I look back now I realise that I have changed a lot, and my maturity level is different to what it was in my 20’s. I have experienced much more, both good and bad. That changes people, you can’t shortcut life experience to gain maturity.

So embrace your youth, it’s an amazing time.

Why go looking for personal slights where there was none intended

This thread really demonstrates that many women are still influenced by societal norms, attitudes, moral perceptions of a patriarchal, chauvinistic society. Older men seem to have no problem at all with this type of age gap, attracting younger women is seen as being successful

However, I suppose that if your interest is vanilla dating then I can understand the reluctance, if it is hedonistic nsa sex then age is irrelevant.

I've always preferred younger men but has to be older than my children. Nothing to do with society or norms, just find it cringeworthy for me and incredibly unattractive ... doesn't work

Also, a lot of younger men under 30 are just looking for that older "notch" from messages I have received and I really don't find being objectified attractive nor appealing on any level so I'll stick to younger over 40s!!!
