Animal rebellion

walsall

A group called animal rebellion has broken into a dairy and drilled holes in over 200 truck tyres as a milk protest.

They immobilised the vehicles and caused over £80,000 of damage.

I think that this type of protest is getting out of hand.

What are your thoughts?

Criminal damage and unlawful protest is policed though and arrests are made. Same as with the trail hunts who only hunt humans but are still targeted.

Some people unfortunately enjoy breaking stuff

It's great to protest !! but at what cost ?? and we'd be pretty much buggered without the farmers ??? and that's who it hits and far better protesting the raw sewerage ?? or even the fat cat bosses ?? or even the offshore tax heavens lot ?? or even here's a silly thought stop buying the stuff you disagree with ??

It often seems these protesters are middle class or toffs. Perhaps rebelling against mummy n daddy before going off to uni.

Working class people prob have to many other issues to worry about

Some good points here. I think that it is likely that government will bring in knee jerk legislation that might affect people who protest peacefully.

I wonder how these vandals will get on if Muller were to sue them for compensation for damages and loss of revenue due to their actions?

They need a good beating to straighten them out ideally.

Thankfully they will get charged for criminal damage and aquire nice criminal records. Hopefully some will lose their jobs as they get called out to bosses for being criminals

Well, between them a a bud extinction rebellion, all they achieve is pissing off normal people who just want to get on with their daily lives and make an honest living.

When someone mentions climate or animal rights, the first thing that enters peoples mind are activists. This makes people dismissive of their actual cause, so I believe they are doing more harm than good.

Now I’m not an advocate of violence, but I feel that this new wave of activism is going to end badly when these people target the wrong person. Not everyone lives in their privileged world and has time to protest, and vandalise property, they are busy trying to make ends meet.

Just an update, the 11 who were arrested have been released on police bail pending further investigation. They caught them red handed. They even posted their videos of themselves in the act on face book. What more needs investigating?

From looking at news reports and photographs of the various rebellion movements quite a lot of them would not be considered young. Genuinely though I can't keep up what we are meant to be Rebelling about anymore.

Errr I'm not sure the youth are rebellious at all. Not compared to the 60s and 70s. They've been beaten into submission. It's a shame.

Yes, but were they vandals? I think damaging lorries and chaining yourself to a fence are very different.

When decades of peaceful protest go unanswered, and the requests for equality are ignored, where do you turn? What other methods do you have at your disposal other than to make yourself heard through physical means?

The Suffragettes are considered to be heroes for their deeds, and what it lead to. Would you voluntarily give up those rights, which were hard fought for by the movement?

My history isn't great but from what I've read, yes they were at times criminals, vandals and I believe bombers? Maybe wrong on the last one... I'm sure someone will correct me. Nelson Mandela was a terrorist but is now knighted... History is littered with "heroes" who at the time were doing a lot more than gluing their face to tarmac.

Oooh the way we live our lives... Now there's an interesting concept. Most of us sleep walk through the impact we have on eachother the way we live our lives.. Most people resist change...
