Somewhere In The Ether…

Gordon Bennett! - It’s become such a fucking cliché in Hollywood films; The presumably Etonian educated, suave, poshly spoken and condescending sounding English villain.

Good people, list as many films/TV shows which feature the above

I understand that we Brits make for good bad guys but why can’t we have a change, say a Scotsman, a Geordie or else a maybe more of the following:

We're top of the heap so easy to make look bad. Plus we're too aloof to care what yanks think of us.

Sadly not in looks, but certainly buffer in build. Jeff usually played the good guy though.

I’ll give him his due also in that amongst his martial artist peers at the time, Jeff stood out in that he can actually act(!!) (he’s probably most famous for headlining the long running TV series, Night Heat)

by the big field

Remember that the key target audience for Hollywood is the domestic market- a quick browse of social media will quickly determine a large majority know little outside of their state and of their history...so to them, London is England and Scotland is a little enclave in the middle of it- they care little for the diversity of of the villan, as long as America saves the world so they can whoop and cheer at the end

Jeremy Irons makes a good villain. He was in Die Hard III (playing a German) and the wicked uncle in Lion King.
