Bad they said ligaments off the bone but it is stable and has a splint on it

I can feel with out the splint that it isn’t right

But god almighty I get an ice there which is driving me crazy probable because I can not get at it

My worked asked but they haven’t signed me off sick yet because I said no idea how long for

"Depends on what grade of sprain it is "

And what your job is.

Suggest you discuss with doctor and boss.

Maybe take medical advice? Would depend on what sort of strain and what sort of job you do.

This.

If you're a professional footballer you'll probably be off for a while.

If you do phone sex chat lines then odds are you could be back at work tomorrow, as any grunts and groans due to pain could work well to keep calls going longer.

That's all very well, when I tore the ligaments in my knee the hospital was rubbish. I wouldnt of had a proper diagnosis or treatment if it wasnt for a physiotherapist that my mother knew

OP, you should be asking your doctors and your physios this question, not strangers on Fab. As they have seen your x-rays/scans whereas we haven't. You must have been given some time scale, for the splint at least?

Apart from the extent of the injury, a lot depends on you- both your body's ability to heal, as well as on your determination and motivation.

Sorry to hear you have injured yourself.

I would say how long you need off work will have a lot to do with what kind of job you do.

I hope you recover quickly. X

Of course the OP should discuss this with their employer and medical professional however it doesn't stop them asking for advice and opinions on the forum.

Who gave you that advice? Ligament off the bone woukd require surgery to reattach I think

Are you due to have surgery? If not I’d think it’s just a sprain and 4-6 weeks will see most of the recovery
