A sexual scenario….

Somewhere In The Ether…

Good folks; picture this scenario if you will: You are meeting with someone you’re incredibly attracted to and are cooking them a meal; I’m not talking a Pot Noodle here, rather the sort of thing that would make John Torode and Gregg Wallace on Masterchef instantaneously cum in their pants!

You spend hours preparing said meal and place it before your guest (who you would very much like to have relations of a carnal nature with) and they say how wonderful it looks……

…..they then ask for ketchup.

Are you offended?

Is sex still on the cards?

Over to you my good people

Yeah go on then.

I’m not offended, especially if they hadn’t tried it before they asked.

Let’s Fuck.

Jeez.

I'd forgive, but they'd have to make it up to me somehow....

Yes, I'd be offended! Everyone knows salad cream is the superior condiment.

I'd be happy with ketchup in a pot noodle to be fair. Let them have what their stomach desires.

Somewhere In The Ether…

Would it be less rude to request HP sauce or mustard?

Actually, on the subject, I very much enjoy Masterchef but can’t help but think to myself whenever I see one of the produced dishes, ‘That would be so much nicer with ketchup/salad cream/HP sauce etc.’

I’m just highly uncouth I guess….

Musing Interlude: Does anyone remember OK Sauce? Damn! - That was gorgeous! I haven’t seen it on the shelf for years

I had a similar hypothetical argument with my mates (minus the sex bit). We reached the conclusion that they perceived the act of cooking for someone as an expression of their artistic nature so saw the addition of ketchup as disrespectful. If I cook for someone, my only interest is that they enjoy the food and I'm not so conceited that I believe they should share the exact same taste choices as me. If they like ketchup with their food and it increases their enjoyment of what I've cooked then crack on. To my mind, being offended by this is an expression of ego.

Mr
