—Chocolate: A Woman's Best Friend—

Jump to newest

Mayfair

Lådìes, Bínarìes, Whatévèries and Persons of Interest...

Earlier this evening I was chatting to my next door neighbour, who is a cookbook writer, and the subject of chocolate was briefed upon. She fervently opined that chocolate is a woman's best friend!

The question is open to all, but ladies - is this true? If so, do you prefer dark, milk, white or flavoured chocolate?

Is it a guilty pleasure? Is it a 'mood positive' experience?

I like dark chocolate, which is best eaten in small quantities because it's so rich.

Never touch my chocolate and never ask me to share

Has to be dark, at least 80% and occasionally favoured.

I quite like white chocolate but only occasionally - a few squares with raspberries. Or cherries. Or a white chocolate and cherry cheesecake. It's quite sweet. Doesn't really give me an endorphin rush; I'd much rather have cheese.

Gone off chocolate since getting older so seldom have any. Would rather suck a mint these days or have a toffee.

No it isn't true. I like good chocolate with a high cocoa content but it isn't my friend. Someone told me recently that Google was my friend though

Twix. The illusion of choice when they fuvking identical. Over promise under deliver.

That’s chocolate.

Cheese is honest, and aside of that French one that smells so bad I’d happy shove my face in a blender, reliably awesome.

Cadburys is like tasteless wax

I do love a Ferrero Rocher

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I have a complex relationship with chocolate. It asks me to pay financially and emotionally. That's not best friend behaviour.

Chocolate week is coming up.

Yes please. Or replace the insufferable popcorn offers.

Dark always.

Brazil nuts coated in it.

A small square of it with a handful of hazelnuts and dried cherries.

Melted into strawberries and pineapples and kept in the freezer as a snack.

At certain times of the month I would

Chose the chocolate to hit the right spots over a man without hesitation.

I've lost my sweet tooth over the last year, but back when I was a chocolate guzzling demon I liked montezuma, or a double decker. I'd get that dreamy endorphin hit every time.

A salted popcorn fondue might be interesting though…..

Alas, fair maiden, you are mistaken: Chocolate will give you unconditional friendship and will happily smear over your derrière. Google will betray you and smear your good name.

Nope, not the least bit bothered about chocolate. It's not my friend - I only have to think about it and I can feel both a migraine emerging and my waistline expanding. I rarely ever buy it and the odd occasion I consume it is generally as a result of someone gifting me chocolate.

That said, it's great for adding to a chilli!!

Lindt pic n mix is high up there but to be less classy a double decker is sufficient X X
