A spot you want me

Not a "resort" but my UK faves are:

Wells-Next-The-Sea (Holkham Bay) for the pine forest and coloured beach huts

Ynyslas (near Borth) for the sand dunes

Penbryn (also Cardigan) for the tropical gorge walking back

Inch Beach (near Dingle, if we're gonna inc RoI) for the shallow waters and waves rolling over you

God I hate being so landlocked in the Midlands

If you’re ever this way then let me know

Got to ask, what is so wrong with Skegness?

It is a really popular place, great beach for kids, and very clean streets.

Jaywick or Redcar......undecided. Both have many benefits

Farnborough

My go to place is Whitby xx

It’s still quaint, it is not far from the North York Moors. The beach is wonderful and stretches for 3 miles to Sandsend … and it has the best Fish and Chips in the world … the Magpie, and (better still) Trenchers.

Also, their Goth weekend is legendary and fantastic. I have been there on that weekend, but sadly never joined in. There are some gorgeous Victorian outfits that people wear.

R xx

Fareham

Swanage. A smaller Weymouth without the crap high street.

wolverhampton

As a kid I loved Goodrington beach in Devon. I went back a few years ago and it’s still lovely but those two sewerage pipes made me take a different view.

Now my favourites are simple ones that are largely untouched like the beach at West Wittering near Chichester.

Blackpool - hear me out...yeah its a complete dive but fk me..is it an entertaining dive! The sheer shitness of the place makes it good.

Otherwise I love Whitby (not on a weekend when it's full of pissed geordies though), Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes, Bude, Newquay etc etc

Blackpool for fun . We found Robin Hoods Bay very quaint and interesting, but we'd choose Blackpool for a fun weekend.

I'm very fond of Paignton it's far from perfect and has its rough edges but that's what I like about it. I live somewhere people may consider the ideal UK holiday destination but most of the time I feel it lacks the kind of character that Paignton has in spades.
