Who's getting nasty and why shouldn't people judge? The whole point of having a profile is so somebody can judge whether you are likely to be someone they want to meet. Every single person that meets someone from here has made a judgement.

Professional really means nowt with regards to swinging, doesn't it? If I want architect's drawings, I'll go to a professional. When it's down to sex, a connection and a good time, someone's job doesn't matter one iota.

As if "oh we're so professional and elite, we won't run our mouths off like those non-professionals". It's meaningless.

At least that's how I tend to read it. I'm not saying that that's how they definitely are, but it's the first impression given.

OK. I've had a coffee now so here's my expanded view.

Some people think putting 'professional' on their profile affords them a kind of self awarded status that in some manner puts them above others, whether its based on career, earnings, net worth, assets or whatever. To some it's important. To others it's not in rhe slightest.

Similar questions are often asked when people put 'genuine' or 'genuine swinger' on a profile. What the fuck do they mean??

Surely everyone alive is a genuine, real person, given that as advanced as sex dolls are these days they don't tend to come with AI and the ability to set up a profile on a swingers website. And nobody has ever earned the right to determine what a 'genuine swinger' is - it's down to the individual to define that.

So in summary?

People choose words they think will 'sell' themselves best to others and if that means appearing to place themselves higher on an imaginary food chain than others then that's what they'll do. Does it work? I personally doubt it makes any difference at all but it's their profile after all.

And let's face it. Many don't read any of the words anyway and just make decisions based on the pretty pictures and whether it says 'anal' in the interests.........

Whenever I see ‘professional’ in the real world I assume it means ‘has a particularly skilled job that required a specific amount and type of training/education over an extended period of time’

On here, I think it probably means ‘won’t show face pics as if work found out I’d have to have some uncomfortable conversations’ or ‘I can use work as a convenient excuse to bail/disappear’

I often see the word misquoted, misused and used in a derogatory way to put down those that use it.

Also just because somebody puts they are a professional on their profile doesn't mean they actually are and it is a very overused word and often not used in the right context.

I'm more interested in who a person is as a whole than solely how they pay their bills. If they are a mature functioning adult that I find attractive and interesting both in and out of bed, if they have differing experiences to bring to the table it's even better.

I don’t mind if people state professional on their profile, but I personally don’t see the relevance. However, that doesn’t matter as it’s their profile, not mine.

Anyone can be busy in their working life, privacy and discretion are important to most people and those in non professional professions might be equally as interesting, intellectually stimulating and eloquent as anyone else. Some of them might be equally or often more wealthy. (I know of lots of graduates who don’t work in their chosen academic field and a few who have gone on to learn a trade after getting their degree).

And there’s some other common phrases that irritate me a little, but not enough to get worked up.

“We don’t bite, unless you ask us.” Nothing wrong with the phrase, but it’s well overdone now.

“Publicly traded blah blah” (especially when they put the numbers in there or mention Facebook). This is almost red flag status for me. It might not stop me being interested, but it’s definitely a discriminator.

“If you don’t like [insert whatever here] move on” A worthy sentiment but a bit redundant as that is the case for anyone’s profile and any trait you can think of.

And of course the good old “I can fuck, lick, splurge, squirt, make you do anything, best ever at” type statements that always make me think pride comes before a fall.

But in the end, some people will think these are important things to include in their bio and some won’t agree.

Happy fabbing all, and after reading some of the arguments above, I think I might look up some girl wrestling porn later. It’s got me right in the mood for it!

Exactly - there are many professions where a public outing of this lifestyle would be frowned upon or regarded as oppositional to their professional register & standards.

Many people would argue that we should all be able to be open & our employment shouldn't matter. In the real world it does though. Swinging seems to be last bastion of freedom that is still considered to be furtive and unacceptable by the mainstream.

Many people are as guarded about their jobs as they are about their families knowing.

Their profile - their choices.
