2 people currently climbing the shard...

Right now. Apparently 2 people are currently climbing The Shard without permission.

There are dozens of police, ambulance and fire crews at the scene. We don't know what they are doing at the moment or the reasons why but what a waste of resources! They have also had to close London bridge station as a precaution as well as evacuate a few nearby buildings because we just have no idea what this is at the moment.

I read it happens more frequently than you imagine so this has wasted tax payers money many times over.

Actually it's only happened once in 2019 and the man was actually sent to prison.

I think a lot of it is currently a precaution as we have no idea what these people are doing but it doesn't look like any form of protest at the moment.

Have they got squeegees and buckets of water?

Who the hell could be bothered doing that on a Sunday morning??

What ever the cost is, fine them and make the dickheads pay.

But of course we won't.

No I was watching talk TV and because the studios are literally outside the shower they are reporting live. Still not quite sure what's going on but they have apparently reached the top. I guess if they are just free climbers they will come back down fairly soon.

They will probably get more than a fine because the last person that did it was sent to prison.

They should put them in gibbets hanging on the shard as a warning to others

So the latest update is they are still at the very top and have been for about 20 minutes with no indication of what they are doing.

Evacuate buildings? No one is free soloing the Shard with a bomb ffs. Without looking at any news I'd guess these men could include Leo Urban, Marcin Banot or Alexis Landot.

The most famous building climber Alain Robert is unlikely to be climbing here again as he faces a long jail term if he tries.

The fact that whoever is doing this has picked 6am on a Sunday morning kind of suggests they're deliberately trying to reduce the impact of their climb.

Mr

That's a lot of assumptions right there. Of course it is right to evacuate the building seeing as we have absolutely no idea what these people are doing. They had closed London bridge station but trains are now running but limited exits opened.

Do you know exactly where this building is situated? and the damage that could be inflicted if Somebody had sinister motives.

I know this building and exactly where it is and can completely understand why these precautions have been taken.

Couldn't afford the admission fee for the viewing platform?

Anyway, glad they are down safely.

Not necessarily. There are people with YouTube channels who climb ridiculous stuff for fun and put it online. They can even get commercial sponsors for the channels and make a lot of money.

I can understand an exclusion zone around it, but I can't see the point of closing the station and evacuating other buildings.

Bomb in a back pack?"

Exactly and the other reason that was given was because they didn't want people streaming out of the station because let's be honest if they fell off from that height they could seriously injure somebody if they land on them if not kill them. London bridge is an exceptionally busy station even at that time in the morning.

I haven't heard any updates other than the facts they have been arrested. As far as I know there have been no further incidents. I was half expecting a banner to unfurl or something.

A couple of adrenaline junkies.

They tend to choose early mornings to avoid arousing suspicion when they start a climb.

Not sure what their reasoning were but 3 people have been arrested. One for trespass and 2 for causing a public nuisance.
