Do you *really* LOL or PMSL?

Jump to newest

When reading an amusing thread or when you make a humorous comment on social media, how often do you actually really “laugh out loud” when you reply with LOL? Do you ever?

Sometimes I do, but it needs to be a rare comedic gem otherwise I might just quietly smile to myself or simply just think “that was quite funny” without actually laughing out loud.

And do you actually ever “piss yourself laughing”.. like actual wee really comes out?

Do we overuse these terms?

And what other internet jargon do we possibly misuse / over exaggerate in a similar way?

I dunno, Fabsters, just a late night thought

Lol is something I would say in person. If I use multiple Os and it’s capitalised then I probably chucked out loud. If I laughed, like really laughed, I would probably say something like ‘Dfkm’ or ‘I’m deadddddd’ or do a ‘askskdbshkaksjsb’. You know?

Not overused I don’t think because as I said, people say them out loud- well I do and I know people that do. So lmao and lol I’ve heard people say out loud.

Alright Dan, lad!

I often laugh out loud but I never 'LOL'. I've also been known to piss myself laughing - menopause, alright?! - but I never 'PMSL'.

They're typically cringe. I don't use them. At least I'm sure I've never used them here. Life's got desperate for some, if the comments are the comedic highlights

Cheeseville, Somerset

I've never involuntarily pissed myself laughing (I've come close on occasions) but I do frequently have SCOK moments first thing in the morning.

Because there's some funny fuckers on here.

When someone posts that they were "howling" really annoys the hell out of me and I'll often see the Mrs put a response on Facebook of a laughing emoji or tell someone their post made her cry with laughter or other such bollocks whereas in reality she didn't even crack a bloody smile

Imagine you actually blew a kiss after everything you said too . I think I'd be locked up if I winked, thumbsed up or dressed like a monkey and covered my eyes even a fraction as often as I do online xx

If I say lmaoooooo or I'm usually laughing but I hate 'lol' it always seems so false somehow.

I can't imagine someone sitting there laughing and typing lol.

But they probably think the same about me when I type that I'm laughing my ass off.
