Salt, mayo on the side if the choice of champions.

If you want vinegar, then the combination is salt, vinegar, salt again.

If you use mayo (or insist on ketchup...) then it's for dipping, it's not for pouring over the top.

These are the chip commandments.

Depends on the chips.

Fresh ground black pepper.

Maybe mayo, but definitely mayo if there's no vinegar.

Occasionally, hot pepper sauce as a dip.

Sometimes salt, but it depends on the day. Big crunchy rock salt is way more likely to make the cut than cheap, white, powdery stuff.
