Anyone else do this ? Not watch a film on a streaming platform because it’s over 2 hours and then happily watch 3 or 4 episodes of a series instead ? What’s that all about?

Series are easy to break down, and you can take a break in between episodes should you choose.

A 3/4 hour movie you can’t, and it’s frustrating

Most shows are 30mins which is easier to hold people's attention as everything is on such a small time frame. Some films take about half an hour into it before some plots take off or gets interesting.

Well if you want a long film try Abel Gance's Napoleon, a 1927 silent film that runs for 5 hours 32 minutes.

Secret hideaway in the pennines

The longest 3 hours of my life was spent watching Tess when I was doing my O level English literature.

Even now I am still trying to recover those hours

Fear of commitment. with an episode you only need to commit to one, but then enjoy it and end up watching more of them.

Cinema Paradiso has a long version and a shorter one. I prefer the long version as I adore that film. However I wouldn’t make the same commitment for a lot of modern Hollywood stuff.

RRR on Netflix has a running time of 3 hours 5 min, heard it’s really good, as it’s a Hindi film, I’ll give it a watch.

You can easily do this by taking a break at the end of the first act, half way point, start of the third act.

But no, I'm the opposite if a film is too short I often assume it'll be crap and will find a longer film instead.

How could you not enjoy watching a young Nastassja Kinski.

If a film is good I don't care how long it is

The cinema release of Das Boot is just short of 4 hours if I remember correctly (think there’s about 4 different versions floating round)- it’s worth investing your time in- dim the lights, turn the heating down for that submarine experience, sit back and immerse yourself in one of the best things ever committed to celluloid

The length of the film doesn't bother me if it's a good film.
