If I’m out then probably not because I can’t eat a lot in one sitting (unfortunately I can happily graze all day with no problem!), but it doesn’t go to waste because my husband is a human dustbin.

I eat the lot but I’ve learned what’s my fill

Such as the old carvery, I’m expert at taking a little amount of veg, no mash to leave room for the roasters n gravy

My nan’s spare room.

I do and then I’m likely to wipe the plate clean with a slice of bread and butter.

At home I usually do because I'm fairly good at judging how much I want. When I'm out I often don't because portions are often very large. Of course the law states that dessert must be finished no matter how big.

Yes! It's estimated that on average a 3rd of all food is wasted; if all 66 million of us in the UK had 3 meals a day then (on average), the equivalent of 1 meal per person a day would go to waste; that 66 million meals a day wasted. But, as not everyone has 3 meals a day so let's half that figure; 33 million meals a day wasted is still a colossal amount of wasted food and, that's just the UK.

My three golden rules to avoiding food waste:

1 Where possible, don't have anything on your plate that you don't like;

2 Portion control, only have on your plate the amount of food that you can comfortably eat; start small if you have and;

3 Eat the left overs the next day - ask for a carryout if eating out.

Yep, was never allowed to leave the table until my plate was clean. I have memories of being about 4 or 5, crying my eyes out and still being force fed my dinner past bedtime.

No but only because my ex used to make pig noises at me when I ate and called me all sorts of fat names, (5ft6 and 10 stone!)so now I leave a few mouthfuls, dont really know why tbh, must be a psychological thing going on?

I try to, but my wife is a feeder and she always over caters. We were sending people home with doggy bags after our wedding.

In the middle

I have now regulated my portion size and still leave a little bit just to prove to myself I don’t need to finish it all
