For example. Your body makes 80% of the cholesterol in your body. If you never ate cholesterol again...your levels would remain constant.

So why reduce cholesterol in food?

Because low cholesterol foods are where the money is made.

The covid vax. I mean, if you are told to get a vax to protect yourself and others around you. You then catch it, then a second vax is suggested, third and some now have a fourth vax running around their system.

Some “fully” vaxed still catch it…

Private car ownership - not just because of the cartel practices of fuel producers/retailers but the amount of money one costs in tax, insurance etc for, in many cases, not more than an hour's use a day. Not cost-effective at all.

The vacancies are used not to stop you catching it but that if you do catch it, the symptoms of "covid 19" would be minimised in vaccinated people and slow the spread of it down, not stop it.

Cats.

You spend all your hard earned cash on them.

They pay no rent, no food bills, no electricity, no heating, no council tax or water rates. They use all the facilities and treat you like shit.

Cat owners just lie down and take the dismissive treatment and are greatly pleased when they get minimal attention, which if it was dished out by a human would be deemed as disgraceful and downright rude.

Cats take the piss out of the saying 'Treat 'em mean and keep 'em keen', and NOT ONE SOUL complains about it.

The biggest scam of all time, and no-one can be arsed to whinge about it.

Well, you could always buy a house. Landlords put the deposit down, ensure its livable and safe. Pay for the up keep and hope against hope that those who live there don't trash it.

Meanwhile they get taxed on all their income unless they are a limited company and still have to pay the loan and other sundry costs.

Yes they make a profit. But they took the risks.

"Ticketmaster ticket service fees when your ticket is on your phone

"

I think ticket charges are a scamm full stop. When there is no way of buying a ticket without the extra charges, then those charges are actually a part of the ticket price. So they should put the actual price for buying a ticket... either that or you should be able to actually buy a ticket at face value.

"Ticketmaster ticket service fees when your ticket is on your phone

I think ticket charges are a scamm full stop. When there is no way of buying a ticket without the extra charges, then those charges are actually a part of the ticket price. So they should put the actual price for buying a ticket... either that or you should be able to actually buy a ticket at face value.

Cal"

Totally agree on this. Ticketmaster adding and trying to justify 'market price' tickets which are 3,4,5,6 times the price. None of which goes to the artist... Outrageous

The Coldplay debacle last Thursday is prime example.

Half a million people trying to get tickets and loads almost instantly on scalping websites. And the only ones leftover on Ticketmaster are 'market price' tickets. Grrrrrrr

"'Name' brands. Usually shops own brand comes from the same factory and is cheaper."
my friend used to work at weetabix who made alpen.they also made many own label mueslis. All they did was reduce the amount of expensive ingredients and increase the cheaper ones. But they had to stop the production line to do this so they realised it was cheaper to just make them all the same.

Bottled water.

If anyone thinks bottled water is better for you than tap water they need their lumps felt.

Yeah, sure it was pure when it came out of the ground, but then it was mixed with chemicals to extend its shelf life.

Evian, an image of snow capped mountains, the snow melting and "creating" a wonderfully pure, chemical free, natural drop of water.

Evian....... water as God intended and not a marketing scam fooling millions of people the world over.

Until you spell it backwards.

Yep! I know someone who's a multi millionaire who basically doesn't work these days but sits on the board of several charities . He told me lots of dirty secrets about some of the big charities. People who are already in top jobs, one of which is the top man at one of the big supermarkets and is already earning an absolute fortune who is then taking a further £150k from a charity for bring their CEO !! Insurance, Car insurance and no claims. At one point I’d built up 30 years of no claims in 2 car policies and a bike one. It’s me they’re insuring, not my vehicles, can only use one at a time, but pay for each at the same price as if it was my only one. I’ve only ever claimed on 1 insurance policy in my life, and my home insurance doubled the following year following a broken computer. I bet I’ve spent £50k on insurance over my lifetime. 1 claim results in an increase of almost the full cost of that claim, *every year for about the next 10 until I’m ‘Claim free’ again.

"Electric cars. They are far simpler, fewer components, lower assembly costs. So why are they twice the price of petrol/diesel?

"

Because:

A: Lithium is a finite resource with fairly limited deposits often in fairly difficult locations (this will be why come 2030 when ICE cars are banned anyone below upper middle class won't be able to own a car at all. This is not a bug in the plan, it's a feature)

B: Because although in some ways the engineering is simpler there are fewer of these vehicles about and economies of scale haven't kicked in as fully as they have with ICE cars

C: Because they are still relatively new and most companies are still recouping their R&D costs.

And most importantly D: The average consumer for such a vehicle is someone with a large amount of disposable income and an insatiable need to place 2 tons of "I'm better than you" on their driveway. The money is there, so the vehicle is priced accordingly.

I have no doubt that car makers will try their best to make EVs affordable post-2030. It will benefit them little to reduce their market to the rich only, but I doubt very much they will be able to do so when every vehicle in most countries has to compete for the same finite supply of mined and refined Lithium. As well as of course competing with other lithium heavy industries such as portable power applications and consumer electronics.
