I guess i just have to be confident and enthusiastic that i am a perfect addition to the team.

Never had a proper job interview before only ever had informal chats. Not quite sure what the normal format is of these things, but i'll go with the flow and fingers crossed i will say the right things

Never done a formal interview before. Im confident in my abilities and with the job role but worried i'll buckle under pressure. Friends who also had interviews said it was pretty intense. Ive only ever had 2 jobs before and i got those through an informal chat not sit round a board room desk.

And relax, they want you to be the person that they are looking for.

Interview lasted an hour, it went amazingly well i answered with in-depth replies to various situations that could occur.

She complimented me and said id given the most detailed an accurate answers to date and told me that providing my enhanced CRB comes back clean (which it will do) she would be delighted to have me as part of the team.

Id like to see that in writing before i jump for joy, so for now i'm just feeling pretty damm good

Oh and i start a week long training program with them on Monday 9-5pm wooooop woooooop

Although it sounds like luck didn't have much to do with it given how good your answers were. Although i am more than confident in my abilities as a HCA and looking after the elderly, its a brand new nursing home so they probably need around 100 staff. So they might just be saying yes to everyone who ticks the boxes. Wasnt like a scrap from 1000 people for 1 job. Still i feel very lucky that there was a need for jobs in health care

Don't sell yourself short. With all the broo-haha in the media recently about poor levels of care in care homes and abuse of residents by dodgy staff they know they have to get the right people and they'll be very selective about who they employ.

Good luck

Read the job spec thousands of times and pitch to them that your exactly what they are looking for!

Also have a gander @ their website research what they do and then if they ask you any questions you will be more likley to know and you can also ask them questions.

every thing is crossed for ya x

It's an internal post, and know "a little" about it, just depends on which way the wind is blowing

Well done Cute, that is excellent news

Dont put yourself down, they would have seen a confident, astute young woman and feel you would be an asset to the team.

Nursing care is specialist and I know some excellent Healthcare Assistants who go over and above the salary they earn. Working in a care home will be such a rewarding experience and good workers will ensure that the residents enjoy a high standard of living and care.
