Maspalomas beach is fantastic, but as a town it's a bit out of the way. You might be better off looking to stay in Melonares or Playa del Ingles - the former is closest to Mas beach, the latter is bigger and busier.

There is a good sex cinema in the basement of the Cita shopping centre a short taxi ride away...worth a look...
