Yes they do and start telling me stuff I often don't want to know.

Eg

Little old lady: they want to put a tube up my bottom.

Me:

Lol: I told them they couldn't, I've got this far without it.

Me:

Lol: well it's been nice chatting

Me: erm bye

Yes. It infuriates me sometimes when I just want peace and quiet. If there’s a load of empty benches please do not assume I’m happy to chat to you if you choose to sit on the same one I’m sat on

Annoyingly yes, even when there are seats available to theirselves.. people have issues.

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

By (user no longer on site)

People don't sit next to me because there isn't anywhere else to sit particularly on public transport. On the tube for example if it is the only seat available people sit next to someone else however if there is a seat available not next to someone else the majority of people will take that one.

If I'm on the London Blunderground then yes. It's unavoidable. And once they alight at the next stop and do a cartwheel I presume they were happy to sit next to me.

Funny you should say that.

I think I give off the crazy lady vibe on the bus as people only sit next to me when there are no other options.

I noticed this yesterday when I scorched over as much as possible and people looked at me and chose other seats.

Maybe it's because I take up a lot of room.

Depends sometimes people avoid me like the plague even on the London underground. Can be a bit soul-crushing

On the other hand when I was working abroad you will get folks who see you and their immediate reaction eyes lit up, smiles on face is that they will sit next to you and practice whatever language they think it is you speak.

Shangri-La

I've never noticed if a stranger hasn't felt comfortable sitting next to me. Sometimes they end up regretting it as u really will talk to near everyone. Go from the polite nod we give each other to dsying something about their shoes, hair, bag, music they are trying to listen to ect..its taxi drivers I feel sorry for mostly with me.
