I think you can be living in a busy household with a husband, kids and friends and still feel lonely at times, it's strange I can't explain it but it's true.

Can be peaceful in a good way.

But you miss the tactile part of partnership in small ways.

I know exactly what you are saying, at times you feel trapped in a rut. I think it could be worst than being single at times.

Yes I get lonely, if I had a string of people in my life to be close with and enjoy the occasional date or night together I think I'd be okay, but it's always just me on my own and honestly it sucks.

Yes. I'm not single by choice, you're looking at the reason why.

I work hard full time to bring my kids up the right way. Busy with chores nights & weekends.

But every so often it hits me & a few tears get shed. A hug, a cuddle on the sofa, someone to bounce ideas off when you're unsure what to do, feel the warmth off somebody else, would just be nice.

I love the mixed up but harmless person that I am, but it keeps me lonely cos it deters ladies. Maybe one day I'll get lucky & Ms Right will cross paths & adopt both sides of me & I'll forget lonely again

WOW not the sort of post you want to read in bed when you are feeling down.

However, good to know I'm not the only one.

I'm very lonely now having lost my wife.

14 years younger than me tall long red hair wonderful body and full of life. together for 9 years but only got married late last year,,, alas 3 weeks and one day later she dropped down dead.

So I am lonely and perhaps thats why Im on here. This site has helped me be stronger and to carry on. Even at my age I still want some sex.

Relationship even better but having someone live with me 24/7

Nah

Would not want that and no one would put up with me x

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't push my soul mate away, but for one I don't think they exist and 2 I've had my time and picked two bad ones. It won't happen for me now.

Short answer, Yes.

Long answer, I'm not long out of a unhappy LTR and whilst I embrace the freedom and release that gives, ultimately I miss the cuddles and companionship. Couple with that most of our friends being couples and her friends and life is pretty bleak to say the least at the minute. To just chat with a kindred kinky soul is all I often want to do. It's where I can be me and not repressed.

So ladies and gents, smile, wink or fab someone that catches your eye it may just make their day

It’s a grass is greener scenario, I’m enjoying the freedom, flexibility and liberty being single brings but inevitably on occasions it can be a touch lonely. Fortunately I’ve a good social circle around me that can help keep those times to a minimum.

On balance I’d say I’m happier now than I was in my past two relationships but there’s definitely elements of those I’d like to still enjoy….

Frankly, never.

There is an erroneous assumption that people who live alone, or who enjoy their own company, at times of their choosing, are inherently lonely, isolated, desperate and in despair.

This is untrue. I have the ability to structure my life and all of my waking hours in such a productive and pleasurable fashion that 'loneliness' never enters my consciousness.

I have great sympathy for those individuals whose lives feel empty; which can be for a variety of reasons: both biological and environmental.

Newry Down

The worst and most lonely experience I ever had, many decades ago, was being stuck in a pointless relationship in which I was being manoeuvred towards marriage by both the lady in question and her controlling parents.

An opportune time arose and was seized upon to end the loneliness of having nothing in common, nothing to discuss and an absence of sex.

I made the firmest resolution that I would never get involved in such a setup every again; NSA sex has been my preferred choice since that time!
