Fuck me! I live in southern Spain and the air here is like a melting jet engine on a plane that’s crashed into a glugging pool of lava.

I’m picking a chilled red with some jamón and snuggling up to the air con controller.

Sorry Nero, I'll be good. Do you know I was discussing the joy of Autumn with a friend earlier. So happy to see the leaves changing colour; it's rather beautiful isn't it? I wouldn't choose any of the aforementioned pies but I'm liking this mood.

Ah you describe autumn so well OP, though as a naturist I prefer warmer seasons, however my menopausal symptoms can help me through the chill. Just thought I'd share that with you, hope you don't mind.

I've not had a Cumberland pie.

We call cottage pie shepherd's pie and don't use cheese.

If it is mince topped with mash it's shepherd's pie, regardless off which animal it's from.

This thread has me sooooo hungry

I’ve quorn “steak” and gravy pie in freezer which is lovely with mash and steamed veggies but I need to go to the shop anyway for essential treats

so may see if they have a veggie mash topped pie available

With the weather cooling though my favourite thing to make is my sausage and bean casserole in the slow cooker which I finish off with a topping of stuffing mix cooked under the grill also gorgeous with mash and carrots or broccoli
