Away on hols in Ellesmere and just treated myself to a local Fish and Chips for £8.

It was a large piece of Cod and chips were ok. 7/10

Dont think I will be having many fish and chip meals in future.

Not fish and chips. But a small kebab and a cone of chips from just out side Ludlow. £9:40. Ruined my treat last week. Grrrr.

Count Your Blessings Cottage, Gratitude Grove

Around £8 in Newcastle for Cod and Chips

The nearer you go to the coast the smaller the fish gets and the higher the price becomes

That is a good point. They always give massive portions. Maybe that's a way they can cut costs etc.

They should of been. The price of fertiliser is linked to natural gas prices and now free movement has ended the cost of harvesting them will put the price up as well. What a time to be alive!

Large fish, large chips, and mushy peas will feed all three of us at Soze Towers. For about £15

Not bad value given the cost of stuff.

Been there, best bit of cod I've ever had, line caught rather than a bloody great net that scoops up everything in the sea!

Here on the rock my closest to home chippy is £5.95 for a regular cod & £2.85 for medium chips so not far of the £9 mark but food is always dearer here than the UK, everything costs more.

A large fish + chips + mushy peas is over £8 at our local (excellent) chippy - but it's a generous meal for 2. As an aside, why don't we cook fish at home in this country? A supermarket in France or Spain is laden with fresh fish. Yet we're an island surrounded by sea. Strange.

Much better cooked in the chippy! Unless it's salmon or seabass then I cook it myself! Can't beat chippy chips x
