What could possibly go wrong.

I'd also assume said mechanic has bills to pay and that his utility provider, mortgage company/landlord, local supermarket and everyone else won't accept second hand sexual favours as payment.

These things are great as fantasies but pretty disrespectful to someone trying to earn a living.

Speaking as someone self employed who's constantly being offered 'great reviews' and 'exposure' as payment for my work I'd respond with a polite 'not a fucking chance' to anyone asking for work with payment in kind.

If it's engine stuff, you don't need any sort of specialist. The engines are fairly standard and any decent mechanic should be able to get you up and running.

First place I'd start (without any further information) would be the battery. That's just a wild guess as "just won't start" isn't anything to go on.
