To go grey disgracefully? (hair)

So, I'm pretty badger striped in the hair department these days. Note profile pic

I do have a couple of box colours gathering dust in the bathroom cupboard, but I'm frankly lazy and don't like to mess up the bathroom grouting when I dye my bonce... Also have a cpl friends who state they dig the colour... Thoughts? Do you dye or just go au natural?

Au natural. But I'm bald on top so it makes zero fucking difference anyway.

However, I have noticed my chest hair - the area where my breastbone is - has started developing a few white or grey strands.

Anyway, now that I'm in my 40's a silver streak can be quite attractive in a woman.

Au natural all day. Going grey is painless. I also like to tell myself Clooney wasn't famous till he was grey

I'm just lazy! Like my hair short so would be constantly colouring!

Got a bit of a Mallen streak going on!

Do you think? I've had a white streak that's near my ear since around 14. And to be fair I'm skipping more to white vs grey these days. I honestly don't hate it myself

Its your hair. Can go wild and dye it any colour you want or just be natural....or both. Dye it when you can be bothered, leave it when you can't.

Started going Grey at 14! So 45 years later, beard gone same way, embrace and enjoy.

Majority of people have nothing but positive feedback! So I guess I am in the camp of au natural rather than hitting the colouring bottle

Having gray hair is becoming something to be celebrated, rather than hidden the entire concept of negative aspects around this come from the beauty industry. Salt and pepper, badger, full on silver or any artificial green, orange, pink, blue purple or whatever they’re all good. I’m quickly heading towards full on silver fox. Celebrate what feels best for you and if some don’t like it you know exactly what they can do.

I’m embracing the grey….. I’ve had all of my remaining brunette cut out, and I’m now silver and steel. Takes a bit of adjusting, and have days when I feel like I look too old…… but the freedom of not having to cover up my roots every three weeks is wonderful

I let mine go natural 4 years ago at 36. It wasn't entirely through choice as I developed really nasty case of dermatitis, but I'm mostly OK with it. Last year I found some dyes I was OK to us, but my hair grows so fast I'd have to do the roots every fortnight and I've become lazy, so I just shaved it all off and started again.

Some days I love it and other days I think "fuck, you look old, Nell!".

I decided to stop dying mine just over a year ago last June. I have a fair amount of grey and honestly I absolutely love it and would never go back.

It really hasn't affected my chances on here or in the real world, strangely enough I seem to do better with my hair half grown out grey!

I say go for it, embrace it and enjoy saving money and having super healthy hair!

I have only just started to go grey and I love it, I have some platinum silver streaks coming through and it's made my hair look lighter. My Mum didn't go grey until her early 60's and her hair turned this lovely platinum colour, not like old lady grey at all, it seems my hair is going the same way

Embrace it, you're not getting older, you're earning your tiger stripes

I eye mine. It's a pain especially since I've started to react to the tint and can't find a brand that doesn't nearly burn my scalp off.

If you start dying it you will either have to commit to six weekly touch ups or a lengthy period of growing the colour out. Greying or white hair in great condition with a good cut looks awesome

I rarely get to watch it but caught bargain hunt recently & a mature Scottish lady presenter who always had dead straight black hair which was obviously dyed now has naturally grey & wavey hair.

It's taken 10yrs off of her & honestly shocked me how good it looks. Natural grey is really nice but appreciate the slow greying process annoying for some.

Great thread reboot.

As I'm currently stopping all hair dye. This is something I have discussed with my kids & D, as I don't want to look any older than I do.

But they are very encouraging for me to go grey. I don't desire silver hair but it's coming thick and fast so I'm going to embrace it.

I coloured mine for quite a while, it used to last a couple of weeks as I kept it short, so hard trying to graduate it too to keep it looking natural but when I got to 50 I let it grow out, full on silver fox, still short no2 lol
