Wonder if anyone can help. I have a push button toilet.

After I flush the toilet there tends to be a pause of maybe 2 - 6 seconds before the tank starts filling up.

It fills up fine it is just the few second pause before it starts filling after the flush which is the issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks

you have a slow feed incert on the refil a fast feed, fills it really fast.

some models apear to take longer and thats due to te ball dropping to start the refil.

this is normal

When it refills it refills fast there is just like a 5 to maybe 10 second pause before the tank starts filling up

It reads as you have a slight sticking float/ball valve.

something like this

first off check to see if theres free movement and nothing it can jam up on.

If you get hold of silicone grease and rub it above the ball valve and lift it and then below the valve.

move the valve up and down just like you do with your tool

its normal they do stick but some dont worry and just carry on as they dont notice as much.

Are you in a hard or soft water area? If it's hard water, there might be a bit of limescale building up.

There you go. Get some silicone grease and rub it on your balls. It doesn't help the toilet but it feels nice.

Anywhere you are

It's seems to me that it's a delayed action fill valve, basically it delays the filling until the cistern has completely emptied, saving you from wasting water
