Drake now has the most top 5s in billboard top 100 history. He’s overtaken the Beatles. So what’s your favourite Drake song or what ones do you know and what’s your favourite Beatles song?

I have heard of Drake but I couldn’t tell you any of his songs as I am not a big music fan.I do know that when the footballer Jermaine Defoe played in the MLS I think for a team based in Montreal he had a picture taken with Drake

I'm not aware of any of drakes work let alone a top 5 of his / theirs .... Old git syndrome perhaps?

As for a beatles fab 5... Tricky one... They have a lot of good tunes from the 2 minute pop songs to the more complex work of latter albums....as a starter..

Honestly it’s unlikely you’ve never heard his music as it’s everywhere. Especially with shops and stuff having radio and songs playing all the time.

Thanks for your recommendation but since I was 12 its been all bout the hardcore jungle drum and bass for me, drake just wouldn't hit the spot but records are there to be broken so good luck to him

I just don't get it, how popular they both are, but then I find I feel that way about a lot of popular things, movies, series, certain foods, and wine, yuk, people too.

My final comment- I don't like The Beatles but the fact that they are still being played 50 odd years after the songs were written tells you something. Most "modern" music including this Duck chap won't be played next year ! Classics were stopped being written about 10 years ago

Yes I like the Beatles. A lot. But I think Michael Jackson buying their masters or rights to their songs and selling it on for profit has a part to play in their timelessness globally compared to other great artists. I watched an interesting video about Paul McCartney talking about it.

Think the Beatles popularity has to be looked at in the context of the time they became so, it's a bit like people now saying the same about the model t ford as we simply weren't there at the time..

Never listened to Drake myself so can't say but do like a lot, not all of the Beatles perhaps due to my mum like a lot of women her age in the city seeing them several times in the early days then playing the 45s etc at home..

I love the fact most people don't even realise he's Canadian rather than American.

There's plenty of Drake on the pod too. NICE for What, God's Plan (I do love the video), as well as a fair few collaborations - Going Bad, Work, Sicko Mode & Look Alive.

From how its recorded, produced, released, marketed, branded, merchandised, how when and where its listened to, purchased, shared, experienced.... As for numbers... Remember the days of record companies rushing out and buying up all the stock at those record stores that were used to establish the top 40?

Kendrick lemar is the rapper holding the torch in my eyes.

Statistically, he might have had more success than the Beatles, but who created the musical world in which he had that success? The Beatles. Without them, the whole world would be very different. They're the basis of everything in the popular music world. Elvis was big, but he didn't write his own songs. The Beatles made it the norm for acts to write their own stuff. You might not like their music, but their influence on the business is incalculable, and they're still selling huge numbers 60 years after Love Me Do.

Of course they weren’t ‘nauseating’. Pioneers of which so much is owed by those that came after.

They are of course an easy target for some strange reason, some people think it makes them look smart to say they dislike the Beatles.

To compare Drake to the Beatles is plain daft.

The only Drake song I know is Hotline Bling.

Not much of a Beatles fan but the best ones are usually written by George Harrison. Having said that, I love Rocky Racoon.

It's no surprise that the likes of Drake are now beginning to eclipse The Beatles, the way we consume music now has changed drastically over the last 30 years. Plus, The Beatles are a very old band now, the fact that they held the top spot for so long is proof of what undeniably prolific song writers they were, the likes of which we may never see again on such a grand scale. I doubt Drake will still be the top in 50 years time
