Just been and got myself some nice Thorn which is pretty much ready to burn.

What’s your favourite to type of wood to put on the stove/fire?

Whatever the stockist has. Normally get 2 cubic metres delivered and stacked on the wood store. I've probably got about a cubic metre left from last winter. It should be nicely dry again now.

Been out in the garden this afternoon chainsawing up next years to dry in the wood shed. Think it was Beech this time and deffo some Ash from one of my own.

My Dad bless him keeps grabbing any bit he sees out on his friends land and I come home to find pallets and boughs all over the drive. I will have to start giving it away.

In the parks and woodlands, the sawn timber is normally left deliberately to create habitat for wildlife I think.

Yeah that's the type I'm talking about, you often see loads of felled trees or trees being mulched up. If I had a log burner and I knew the type of tree was decent I'd be asking..?

Fortunately I work amongst a rural community and it's not an issue. Sometimes I have to politely decline, I get offered so much.
