So I find myself spending 9 days in the countryside south of Winchester from Saturday. (I have spent too long in Winchester before)

I have a mile and a bit of river to play with and some woods for my dogs to be happy in.

Are there any little hidden gems in the area? I plan a trip to Portsmouth as I’m a history buff. But do not want to do a long day due to my doggos.

Any advice of lovely places welcome.

I don't venture over to Portsmouth that often but we recently went to

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard to see HMS ships and the submarine. That was pretty fun actually! I was surprised.

There's a little gem called Portsdown hill which is the highest view point, if you go at sunset it's really beautiful you have the view all over Portsmouth and isle of wight in the distance. Seeing all the lights at night is really nice.

Thank you very much I believe I sat up there once following a school trip so will be nice to go again.
