Be careful which platform you play it on, or that your hardware can handle it.

It's good, buggy, was a little rushed. Hopefully they've ironed out the creases.

Maybe get it on steam, if the game causes your mac to, well emit steam from the strain, you can get a refund as long as it's under two hours of play time.

Is there a demo to try by any chance?

It has the best open world in a videogame bar none- even the biggest critics agree on that.

I had a blast playing it on the Xbox one when it first released, even though the performance was terrible. Thanks to some updates, the game runs much more smoothly now. Highly recommended!

Heard also bad things about cyberpunk. I think YouTube is full with videos with funny bugs.

Witcher 3 is really the top game, but takes commitment to complete. Especially liked that Geralt/Yen dynamics reminded me of our relationship.

Myself I am currently on fallout 4.

Depends what you are playing it on from what I have heard.

Not to bad on a decent pc by all accounts but I'm giving it a wide berth till they at least add the next patch.

As a solid alternative I'd honestly suggest the mass effect trilogy instead...big time sink but awesome trilogy if you like a sci fi setting (which I do).

Elden Ring was fantastic. It was beautiful, some of the finest gaming since the likes of the Witcher or Bloodborne. Highly recommended.

It's different to the likes of Elder Scroll or the Witcher in that you don't have question marks or lists of quests to tick off, there's no dialog options or busy work. You could very realistically play through the whole game and never know what you're doing or why... It's up to you to piece together the story.

If you're new to Souls games this is probably the most accessible one to get in to, there's less chance of hitting roadblocks and more to explore. I'd highly recommended the SoulsBorne franchise as a whole if you've never played them.

If you've played souls games before then expect more of the same just in a much larger game.

Basically, post apocalyptic survival rpg with a 50's Americana aesthetic. Make your character as good or evil as you wish, be sneaky and clever, or loud and smashy. Endless options and variables.

Loads of mods for them on pc if that's your jam, tonnes of reviews.

Very well received, have a nosey. Should be cheap too if you are patient.

I'm a big fan of open world RPG's. I can definitely second the recommendations of Fallout 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 - If you've played Skyrim or Oblivion and enjoyed the humour you'd enjoy those. They've got lots of modding options if you play on PC. I haven't played cyberpunk but have it on my wishlist hoping it goes on sale sometime.

Witcher 3 is another excellent game with endless potential for exploring and side-quests - some funny, some heartbreaking.

Realise this is just for the console/computer game, but if any of you love it and also like tabletop gaming, I believe CMON have produced a board game based on it which is now up for late pledging.

It's expensive mind... especially when you factor in shipping and VAT.

It will get a retail release at some point though but without the exclusives...

Right so I played a couple of hours last night.

Right now it's a bit... Meh. I don't know if it's because I had to put so much time into character setup and training, as it did liven up a little once I started completing tasks.

My main bug-bears:

- I'm not keen at all on the first person camera

- Gun combat is kinda hard (although that might be because I'm playing with a trackpad)

- I don't ~get~ quickhacks

- There hasn't been a tutorial yet around inventories and switching weapons - dunno if that's yet to come

- Whenever I play games involving dialogue, I always read the subtitles real quick and skip the audio. That's always worked great for me as a way of life, but with this when you skip to the end of the sentence it fast forwards through the character's movements and I feel like it's gonna give me a tension headache.

- V's voice is kinda annoying

- Not enough titty size choices

K thanks for reading my thoughts on Cyberpunk 2077

Yes, it’s a first person rpg - would imagine the combat is all but impossible using a trackpad.

Ps4 controllers sync really nice, plenty of guides and availability.

So now I've been playing a few more nights I can officially say... I'm not that keen

The main thing is the story. It's really complicated and badly explained. I have barely any idea what the fuck anyone is on about or why I'm completing these jobs.

I also HATE this first person bullshit. It seriously ruins the gameplay experience in my opinion.

The battles are too stressful. There's a million different components. You've not only gotta worry about shooting people, but you need to scan all the hackables in the room AND watch out for people trying to hack you. And because of this first person bullshit I keep getting attacked from the back by enemies I can't see, or getting burned by exploding pipes it just took me over an hour to escape from All Foods.

Also, why is it so bloody hard to control the car?!

As for the actual game play issues, not much to be done about 1st person, you love it or don't. Maybe there's a mod?

As for struggling, guides, respec your build to specialise rather than a generalist. Do side quests for xp and better gear, before going for the story mode.

I usually like to go full stealth and hack etc, channelling my inner Snake and Otacon.

I usually find, games that kick my ass at first, are the more rewarding as they require a bit more thought and tactics. It might be worth another go, but, ya know, can't win em all.

I(Mr) played 2077 when it came out it was buggy as hell. I never bothered with the gun play or melee I just used the quick hacks. Skulking around weakly at first but after a few upgrades you start to feel like Magneto. The Elder Scrolls lvling system can be a little frustrating.

The story and the Characters are why I played the game. I too was rather confused by the story but once I ended up hiding behind the TV in the corp tower. I knew who the baddies were and that my character was in trouble, I was hooked. I treated it more as a 50 hour movie experience.

If your centred on story then Elden ring is a bad choice. Though it is a masterpiece of level design and boss mechanics. The actual story is quite hidden but it's amazing if you enjoy exploration and getting 2 shot by bosses.

Ghost of Tsushima is an option. It's more complex combat than Witcher 3 has but less punishing than Elden Ring. The story isn't too complex either.

Dragon age inquisition is also a good story driven RPG but it is a little dated now. You can play third person and it's not too punishing. Though you get out what you put in with it.

the sadness got to me well before the end.

I blew my brains out on a rooftop.

I've still never gone back to finish the game.

10/10 would commit suicide again

Yes the bugs have been really annoying; I can't imagine how bad it must have been on release if this is 2 years later! There's some minor side quests I'm not even able to complete.

Also after the Queen of the Highway quest my scanner just completely packs up?! It scans but doesn't show the list of quickhacks anymore, so I can't hack anything. But I needed that quest to get the Panam ending.

Highly frustrating.

It’s an awesome game.

I found it super easy first run through so did it again on a harder setting.

What system are you playing it?

"Before I invest... Any good? "

I put 90 odd hours into it over the Christmas break in 2020 on a Xbox one S and had about 8 glitches / bugs in that time all of which a reboot sorted.

Thought it was a good game, got a PS5 now so thinking about going again once I get bored of ghost of Tsushima, no signs of that yet though.

I’d say go for it if you got a way to get it below retail. (No reason why but cheaper is always better )

The ending is really sad, regardless which one you get but it’s a good one

I got probably the best/most hopeful one you can get as female V. But I didn't get to keep River "

Oh well that’s not too bad then, there are very harsh ones. But River…it is a drama not being able to keep him

So a decent system shouldn’t be any problems. I played on the Xbox X and it ran fine no glitches what so ever. So I’m not sure why everyone’s having problems.

It's just been patched again (1.6) and is enjoyable, good storyline, gameplay is fun.

I'm playing on a PS4 which can't really handle it but if you have a next gen console or good PC you'll be fine

I made a different choice as I'd bonded with Johnny and he offered an alternative option

This is why I still have the game save. I will play it again.

I also never had any glitch or bugs. It always ran really smooth.

You need a decent rig to get it to run.

"Sequel got announced today! "

Seen that I think they want to hold off and see how Witcher 4 dose

The launch off cyberpunk 2077 really did burn a bridge in the gameing word for them

Yes they patched it and all that but I suspect

Witcher 4 pre oder to be low

Everyone will wait till the reviews are out witch is turn

Will lower they overall cash flow and slow down production off the game

It's a cloud gaming service you can use on any device.

Would really recommend it if you're just a casual gamer like me

I played on the X as well launch day

Never had a problem at all and looked glorious

But most games do for me when running in 8K upscaled mode

It suffered from a crap launch, which has given it a bad rep. They've done a lot with it now, and it's a lot more promising. I've sunk more time into it than I should probably admit to, and a good chunk of that was just walking around Night City taking in the ambience they've created. Best advice would be to find it discounted and give it a whirl.

However good it is, though, it's still not as good as Fallout: New Vegas.

Ahh ok. I am a casual gamer, but I have the Xbox game pass for my casual gaming fix.

There's one game I play on my Mac though that could have better graphics.

Still not sure if it’s a separate story all together or just an expansion of the experience as they have said in twitter.

Not very promising seeing that they’ve announced lots of releases just days after the co-founder of cdprojekt has decided to step down as CEO

I'm trying not to read this thread too much incase of spoilers but I finally caved and bought it on PS4 cause after replaying Outer Worlds nothing was holding my interest.

Have spent the last two days of my holiday immersed in the game. Had two bugs but I'm a prolific saver at the best of times so it's not been an issue.
