Youve been to the doc, he sent you for some tests, turns out you've got, let's say for arguments sake, stage 4 bowel cancer and its terminal, could you check out? Could you let your kids see your health deteriorate and watch you turn into a bag of bones? Not be able to catch them when they jump up at you? Not have the strength to pick them up and cuddle them? Would you want that to be the last memory of you they have?

Very tough question, I have a friend who has just beaten Stage 4 bowel cancer. Seeing her kids reach certain milestones was her motivation. We realise this is incredibly rare.

Not straight away no, you'd owe it to them to make as many good memories as you could first and explain what will happen to you eventually so when the time came they would be able to accept it with better understanding.

I don't have children but I'd want to make the most of whatever time I had left with those I love & spend time with them,that includes my pets too.

Having lost several family members in a short time period I know how precious time can be with people ,when all you have are your memories with them x.

Me personally, I'd make as many memories as possible in the time I had left, you'd know in yourself when it was time to get rid of yourself, I'd want my loved ones to remember me in the best way possible, not needing help to get off the toilet. Its funny, we can easily put a animal down because its the humaine thing to do but we can't do it for actual people in this country, sucks if you ask me!
