Car paint job

Just wondered if anyone on here knows about car spray paint jobs please?

I had my bonnet and wings re sprayed a few weeks ago. When I collected the car it looked ok and I thought it was a good job. Today I washed and autoglym polished the whole car. I noticed that the bonnet reflections aren’t very clear and it’s pretty hazy.

Would this be a problem with how the job has been done? The technique? The paint, lacquer, metallic etc?

Any advice and suggestions on what to do about it really appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Running hand over it it feels smooth just looks hazy rather than a crystal clear sharp reflections. There is a slight orange peal but only very very slightly.

I was thinking maybe a bit of lacquer over spray, if your car wasn't covered and it's been in the air. You can't see it, you can feel the texture change, especially if you wear a cotton type glove.

polish the paint with t-cut not in the sun though.

It sounds like when they polished it they left bloom marks on it, a good polish with a decent product like Meguiars Ultimate Compound will soon bring back the shine.Definitely do not ever,ever use T Cut.

Cool. So you think that the colour and lacquer are probably ok it may just need a mechanical polish from the company that did the job to sort it?

I think what you have is spray 'bloom'. It might be possible to T-cut out, but really it's poor workmanship.

Do not use t cut unless the cars paint is older than you and more faded than Utd’s trophy cabinet, go for a real high quality polish, wait for the cooler temperatures too, in the shade, don’t use mechanical use elbow grease otherwise known as your right arm, do a tiny square in an inconspicuous area and see how much difference it makes, please don’t use t cut, that’s only useful when your red car has turned pink, it makes professionals sad when people use that stuff

Ignore all the polishing advice- you paid for a finished paint job, so unless you bunged Fat Dave down the pub £50 to do it in his garage, its up to the spraying company to sort it.
