They arrived over here because birds of prey used to carry them as a mid flight snack but would occasionally drop them on travelling merchant ships...

I wanted a syrian hamster a while ago.

I even decided I'd call him an Arabic name, like "Amir".

..He'd be a Syrian hamster after all.

Didn't get one in the end..
