Tell a mate I think her drinking is becoming an issue? She doesn’t wake up and drink( that I know of) but she drinks every night! And gets in some right states at weekends

How about

Is there something worrying you or on your mind? I've noticed you usually have some drink in the evening now, so wondered if there was a reason. I'm here if there is something going on and you would like to talk about it.

I hope you manage to talk to her about it.

My partner, basically, died from drinking too much. It led to liver and multiple organ failure.

It didn't matter what I said to her, she just didn't change her behaviour and she knew that she should.
