Reservoirs, lake's, river's etc, took the dog out for his walk earlier can honestly say I have never seen the river so low, think the fish are going to struggle over the next few days. We aren't on a hosepipe ban yet though.

What's the situation where you are?

Have a great day all.

When I was a kid in the mid 90s I went on a horse back riding holiday around the Elan Valley, which supplies the west midlands with water. That year there was a hosepipe ban, yet the Elan reservoir was over flowing. Go figure.

That's nuts, I could walk across our river now which would usually wash a person away.

"No ban here…….. yet"

Only a matter of time unless we get some sufficient rainfall.

Ban from Friday here. The sea is still full up but oddly a couple of times a day it seems to empty out

Stockport

If that west Antarctic ice shelf breaks free and melts, we're not going to be worrying about river levels being low. We're going to be worrying about hilltops being a bit low. Apparently we could be looking at sea level rising by 50 metres, which puts every coastal city in the world underwater.

I think that I'll be okay in Stockport, but I'll only need to walk half a mile to get to the seaside...

Only at around the equator. The sea level at the poles will actually drop.

The water needs changing because of all the people bathing in it.

An ice shelf breaking up makes zero difference to sea levels. Its already floating which means its already displacing a volume of water equal to that it contains. Whether or not it breaking up allows continental ice to flow into the sea at a faster rate is a different question.
