Have you found people rude on here?

Worthing

I understand the joys and the complexities of chatting but if a stranger blocks you after asking you a question with absolutely no indication why - in this case asked if I was staying in a hotel on the second of a polite couple of emails then I find myself questioning the attitudes of people. Are they just expecting you to be offensive from the first email? What is the etiquette here?

The etiquette is respect people's decisions and what they feel is a reason to block someone.

pre blocking is a big thing for some we've always done it for many reasons and it works for us it save loads of time stop those whom you have no interest in and it states on our profile not here to chat to people we have no imtention of meeting or thinking of meeting..

just because you joined a swingers site dont mean anybody owes you anything

You said something, or they saw something they didn’t like, and to save the potential for a bunch of abuse following the impending rejection…..have hit the block button.

Many people get arsed when they’re told no thanks. I’m not saying that’s you, but it happens a LOT.

A swingers site is no guarantee of sex, absolutely agreed. It was just the mid conversation block that confused.

It happens. There'll likely be a reason on their end, you just don't know what it is

Definitely not me but I guess if people have that experience it's a bit sad. People should just respect and be nice

Maybe you said something to them in your conversation that they found was a little rude…

This. And don't worry about it. It's only strangers on the Internet.

Trick is to not take it personally.

Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet or something like that....

I just asked how their meetup went today and said if they ever wanted a beer I would be available to have one (or something very inoffensively similar)

Probably just meant you weren’t for them and they didn’t fancy having to say no!

It's sad they didn't feel confident to say it. I guess if they have had so many bad experiences that's pretty damning of the community for something that should be so fun

I presume that you weren't blocked for being offensive, they just thought you weren't compatible

That's what I concluded. Was just surprised it was only by the second message after asking me a question...

There's only one half of a "conversation" here. People can be "chatting" with one party just being polite and the other party being oblivious that it's not actually going well. Polite party has experience of relentless conversations with people they believe can't take a hint and default to a block as it's easy.

Like Mimi said don't over think it. FWIW Mimi is very adept at communicating her feelings and that works better than just blocking people

People might block you now because of your negative status

Central

People are here for very different reasons. Even if you are here for the same things, most people are not compatible with most other people. Accessing this is essential.

Next, with thousands of people here, many need to use block and no reply, to manage their enjoyment of fab. When in Rome...
