No never would! I got to one meet and saw him stood there and started to turn around to go home but thought no that's just cruel! Will have a coffee and then go! As it turned out didn't have to make excuse as he was a total knob x

We always turn up. If we change our mind for any reason we let the person know

I've always turned up, I'd let someone know if I had a genuine reason not to meet them.

No never bottled a meet, even though I had a feeling it wouldn't work out. Turned up, socialised and politely made my excuses.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

No, but I nearly did when Bob was on his way to see me. I was so nervous and absolutely convinced he would be disappointed, I had to be talked out of getting in the car and running away.

I'll always be grateful to the person who talked me off that ledge because it was the start of the best thing in my life.

I have never bottled a meet but I had one meet where the wife had clearly been on the bottle before she turned up. She was definitely worse for wear and it became clear, talking to hubby, that this swinging stuff was all his idea and not hers. Made my excuses and left as soon as I reasonably could.

Nowhere

Been stood up several times - but never done it to anyone - wouldn’t - no one has enough free time to have it wasted

No, though it's possibly easier for a couple, in that we can support one another.

Saying that, Mrs A has met alone also.

No. Apart from the fact that I wouldn't want to let a girl down, meets are so hard to get and take quite a lot of arranging and travelling and so it would be crazy to bottle out of one.

No we’ve never bottled a meet and wouldn’t either but it’s probably easier for us as if the meet is not going well we will still make a night of it and enjoy ourselves with each other .

No If it's a woman on her own always in a public place and if she's not for me for whatever reason we've had a cuppa or drink and natter then leave and it's the same for the woman I can handle the rejection and have never been stood up up to now

I have, and I felt terrible. Anxiety got the better of me and I made an excuse to cancel. I will only arrange to meet once in a blue moon because of this, and a lot of prior chat is a big help in calming my nerves.

No, that’s just rude. In the years I’ve been swinging I think I’ve only ever had to cancel 2 meets, and let the couple know well in advance each time.

No, I nearly did once though, because I was sat waiting for them in my car for 30 mins, then I was getting bored and more nervous.

It was very tempting to put my foot down and go home!

Vabbing in a bottle. You could be onto something here Jim.

How unfair would that be, what's the worse that can happen, you don't hit it off and you go your seperate ways after a chat, you should never go to a meet with false expectations and presumptions of getting further than a great chat and social because that would add the pressure that would make you bottle it.

If you arrange to meet you should meet - always bear in mind that meeting someone does not obligate you do to anything other than chat.... if that's all you want to do. Be polite and leave if they are not for you.
