I'm the opposite. When I have life's problems I bottle them up and want to be by myself.

I don't turn to sex as the answer.

I think that some people look for validation and approval in sex. I don't think that meeting strangers will solve deeper problems socially or sexually

Sex provides a temporary relief from an shitty life for some, fake attachments can be formed but that's avoided by lots of people only having a 1/2 meet rule.

Of course some people use sex as a temporary plaster. It releases endorphins, your mind is temporarily not on any issues. I get it. I think that the majority of those people have some self awareness as to why they're doing that.

People have all sorts of reasons for being on fab.

Some have very busy careers, or family issues or health issues that mean that “normal” dating is somewhat tricky for them or simply not what they’re looking for.

Some like to genuinely participate in the scene, explore their kinks etc

Some like the honest human connection it can bring.

Some don’t want to date or have a relationships but, we all have needs.

Some like the social side

Some It’s a mix of all the above.

There’s nothing wrong with whatever your reasons are with the exception of cheating in my opinion, and even there fab works for some. Not something I will entertain but plenty do.

A recent chat on here about such things prompted me to quote this from charmed (it was in relation to online dating which was a fairly new thing then)

“It's a complicated world, Phoebe. People have a hard time finding each other in it. And even when they do, they sometimes don't act on their feelings because they're too afraid.”

It’s hard to be honest and it’s hard to find someone that is a good match be it sexually or for a relationship, so we need to go easy on each other.

I mean stating the idea that someone may have mental health issues due to not wanting an actual relationship is pretty messed up? Not everyone wants a full on dynamic, not everyone can offer this? Due to kids/work/just not wanting to? But harsh to say someone's practically crackers for being in Fab?... Especially when you are yourself

Joining fab unexpectedly made me healthier mentally and physically.

How? It inspired me to improve myself as I quickly realised competition is high for single men here due to the saturation... soooo I started excercising, eating good, stopped drugs and worked on my social side (anxiety makes it hard sometimes).

I have since met some lovely ladies, put on a stone, made some awesome friends and become more confident/social which is positively affecting other areas of life

Still early in my swing journey and I can't wait to see where it leads, clubs soon

I literally did none of the above... However, I would say it probably changed my world 7yrs ago. I connected with other ladies and actually explored my bi side. Which in 'real life' is so so hard to do

I typo lilt it’s an Olympic sport and I’m aiming for a gold medal. Plus AutoCucumber is a child of Loki, especially when you’re dyslexic.

But I too shame your original sentiment. I’ve had some very lovely and dark times recently, people are less inclined to meet for a social, so meeting for sex is an alternative. One Fab user will never realise that when they agreed to meet they saved my life.
