You won a million but you are not allowed to keep it or give it to family or friends. Who would you give it to, partly or solely.

Split between ssafa, diabetes UK and the crmo foundation. All charities close to my heart

I’d buy stuff to donate to children’s wards and hospices. I’ve seen first hand how badly charities use money so I’d rather know exactly where the money has went.

For me, there are too many worthy causes to list. But I'd give it to those that have been forced out of their homes by war.

Those stuck in camps in abject poverty.

Really....I'd want to help everyone.

I’d split it between charities with income under 150K. Having recently moved from a charity with income of over £15m to one with income of just over 100K im rapidly seeing just how amazing small charities are (I work in the charity sector). And how under appreciated they are!

Ok so let’s run the gray here

First I would set up a start up company

Second I would apply for a crowed found account

3rd I would crowed fund for 1 million

4th I would give the money to my own crowed fund start up company

5th I would then shut sed company and keep the money

Technically I didn’t brake the rules as I gave it away to a start up company

But just so happens i own the start up company and the company folded

Small, local charities. A £10,000 or £20,000 grant can make a massive difference, especially if they have a particular project they want to complete.

Great responses guys, thank you. Well, a couple of cheeky ones too but fun to read. In the current climate its nice to see we all have so many causes we deeply care about. I do try to give to charity whenever I can and have a couple of SOs to those I am particularly keen to support, usually changing it every year or two but mainly animal, children, homeless and more recently altzeimers. It's a dreadful condition, affecting more and more people all the time. As someone else said, if I was giving a million away, I would also personally support some specific local projects and possibly be personally involved. Finally, I would help at the moment those that seriously struggle to put food on the table for themselves and their families - a great shame that some, including kids go hungry.

If I had the money I would set up a charity, getting them off the street and into building trades, renovating homes and selling them.

Unfortunately the services really don't care when you are out the door, and they often aren't great at preparing guys for it. Although they are getting better.
