Can you go back to trusting someone once you’ve discovered they’ve been dishonest?

it depends on how emotionally involved with that person, I tried after finding out my ex cheated on me, but in the end it just festered and was always at the back of my mind

No. If someone shows you who they are, believe them.

That’s a tough one, I’d like to think it isn’t who they are and it’s just something they did. I’d also like to think I’m a forgiving person.

But more than likely I’d throw my drink over them and cause a scene promising never to see them ever again…

Nope, if I’m emotionally involved I leave myself open to being hurt again. If it’s sex scene related definitely not, how can I trust they’ll look after my safety?

Always walk away.

Depends on what kind of relationship you have with them, the emotional connection or investment you have with that person. Also depends on what they were dishonest about - we're all capable with being "creative" with a truth or lie.

I think there are different levels of trust, but once that level has been broken I think that’s it, definitely for that one person and possibly on that level for everyone you ever meet after that.

For example there are people I trust 100% with my physical safety while I’m with them but I wouldn’t trust them or anybody else not to lie to me about other stuff because that trust has been broken by others

Depends on the situation.

"No, your arse doesn't look like the back end of a bus" is fine.

Yes you can trust again but not with an open heart, only with caution.

It's depends on what they've been dishonest about & the intention behind it tbh .

Once a cow has broken through the hedge, no matter how many times you repair the hedge that cow will always get through it again

Yes.

I only place trust on people I class as family, and like all families we have up and down days and we are able to have open communication with each other. If one of us has crossed a line with another, we talk about it and come to a conclusion together
