Super Saturday at the Olympics in London 2012 was taking place …

Two questions…

A) do you remember what you were doing?

B) is there a sporting event that you remember vividly that made you cry? I suppose we can call it your best/worst sporting experience….

a) Yes it's in my diary I've kept one since 2010. Usual work day but looking forward to start of holiday later in week.

b) England v Germany World cup semi final. England lost on penalties...only sporting event that brought tears to my eyes (did not "fully cry" though!).

A) I remember being on here a lot saying “blimey we have won another one!!!!! “ it was surreal! Then I went to a club an I left home just as mo’s 10000 started and got To the club 5 laps from home where everyone in the club was huddled around a tv!

B) events that made me cry.. I was at anfield 89 as an Arsenal fan! the was a rose bowl MSU won!

Sports don't really interest me. It's nice when Wolves do well, but I don't really care if they lose.

I don't really remember super Saturday though I must have watched it.

I tend not to cry at people winning though I have got emotional reading Vicky Pendleton's biography (not an easy read) ajd a few other post race interviews have got me. Pretty sure ive cried during every marathon ive ran though

It wasn’t something that made me cry, but I did actually spit out a mouthful of tea when it happened.

Still vividly remember watching the Touring Cars meet love on TV, when Billy Monger ploughed in to the back of Pasmas broken down car, which caused the loss of his legs. He’d been interviewed just before the start as his car was the one designated to carry the on board camera that race- so the on screen footage was a live shot of the impact at about 120mph, possibly one of the worst accidents I’ve seen in 40 years of watching racing and I’m still surprised they both survived

10yrs ago I was in Afghanistan for the 3rd time.

Not really cried over many sporting events tbh.

I remember watching Super Saturday and cringing when Mo Farah won. Not at his performance but an athlete spat on the track afterwards with exhaustion and Farah accidentally rolled on it when he celebrated.

Not sure if it counts but I cried when Cactus Jack retired in WWF. Thought it would be the last I'd ever see him... he was back wrestling a month later.

(A) Yes, very clearly. I was at the Olympic Park, watching the Olympics! Sadly didn’t get tickets to the Athletics on that day (I did try!) but was at the Water Polo, the only time in my life that I’ve ever watched that in the flesh!

We watched the rest of Super Saturday pan out on the big screen in the fan park. Great atmosphere, happy days!

(B) I didn’t cry, but was absolutely gutted after the Euro 2020 Final last year, I was lucky enough to have a ticket and honestly, we will never get closer to winning a major (men’s

) trophy in my lifetime. Penalty kicks!

I still can’t watch the game back to this day!

Didn't get to see much of it (not that I was interested anyways to be fair). I remember seeing a bit of it while I was transiting waiting for a flight to Cyprus from Afghanistan. It was the women's weight lifting and I'm sure the lady did a pee on the floor during the act (which I believe is not uncommon).

To be fair I was lucky to be in Afghanistan and not in the UK while the Games where on or I'd only probably have been drafted down to London instead of having any down time. I know people who had just returned sent to man the Games and other who where sent pretty much straight out after the Games had finished.

A - No, I have trouble remembering what I did yesterday, let alone 10yrs ago.

B - Despite what I typed above, I clearly remember hugging my son as we both cried like babies on the last day of the 2011/12 season when Agueroooooooooo banged it in. Similarly, just a couple of months ago when Gundogan did the same. CTID

Same year and often overlooked - Chelsea winning the Champions league. And yes, I was in tears.

A) yes, I was a victim of my terrible admin. I love the Olympics but had not thought about the dates (let alone detailed schedule) when I booked tickets to the ballet for my niece's birthday some months before. So I spent Super Saturday slightly seething (at myself) at The Colosseum. At least my then 13 yo niece was pleased.

B) A few! But sat at home as a young boy watching Arsenal win the league for the first time in my lifetime in 1989 is hard to beat. Also Arsenal winning the FA Cup in 2014, watching in the middle of the night in a Sydney hotel, was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. I might come back with more later, but this is already an epic post...

A) I was in London. The Olympic rings on the bridge were very cool.

B) We had a 3some planned and my friend had to cancel because he couldn't get time off because of the Olympics.

A. I was at Wembley for the badminton in the morning & then Horseguards in the evening for beach volleyball.

B. RWC 2003 - when Johnny Wilkinson dropped the DG to win the match I honestly thought I was having a stroke. At the end of the game my best friend called and we were both too emotional to speak!
