'Apparently'...

When men cheat its out of lust but when women cheat it involves feelings?

Do you think that's true?

Which is worse if it were true?

No both cheat for both reasons it varies individually, both as bad as each other as both hurt others and wreck families.

Feelings is probably worse. Emotional cheating can be as bad if not worse than meaningless sex but as someone else pointed out cheating is cheating.

Cheating is cheating

No morals who ever is involved ….

Situations differ in terms of if they feel their not loved /desired anymore but even so … get out

No idea. If I were to judge I judge individually and don’t lump everyone together as one big “cheat”. I’m sure everyone’s reasons are different and people look for different things.

Who are you to say the person who has a terminally ill partner who has given their life to care for that person and who would perhaps get worse if they knew their partner was having sex elsewhere every now and then has no morals?

La la land

I think there's a myriad of reasons why people regardless of gender cheat.

And it's not always due to someone being evil. It's not unheard of for those in abusive relationships to cheat to gain control of their lives and actually leave their abuser's. It's not always as black and white as people like to think.

Exactly my take on it. People's reasons are there's and it's no place for anyone to judge, nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors and it's not as black and white as it seems

Some people cheat because their emotional needs aren't being met and they hope to find that via NSA sex with strangers.

Some because their sexual needs aren't being met and they hope to fulfil them elsewhere.

Personally I think much infidelity is about looking for intimacy and believing that a married person is 'safer' because they don't want to involve feelings is a mistake

I do think that the general concept of cheating is men are bastards and women have legitimate reasons. Doesn't matter what sex, excuse or situation you want to chuck at someone, cheating is cheating.

I wouldn't comment personally...

No one has a right to comment on anyone else or how they live their life.

No one knows what they live with/like or deal with behind closed doors.

Just move along nicely instead

I personally love the sexless marriage advice.

To men - Have you tried being romantic? Doing all the housework? Making her feel beautiful? Take her shopping?

To women - Go out and get that dick from someone who deserves it girl!

I agree. I've said before about a woman we knew who was a full time carer for her husband. When he was at respite care she had a man friend round and I don't blame her.

Cheating is cheating regardless of gender. We certainly wouldn't meet a woman we knew was actively cheating.

There are some on here who handwave it away with justifications for it but in the context of this site there isn't any justification to us regardless of reasons.

We do not need dragging into your life issues even just for one night. We're honest on here so we except others to be with us.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I think that everyone and every relationship is different, and sometimes women and men cheat for feelings, sometimes for the booty call. Neither is better or worse than the other, in my view. I have heard it said that women find it easier to forgive "just for sex" and men find it easier to forgive "for love" though. I doubt that's entirely true, because as I say, people are all different.

Nora and Frida have pointed out situations where no doubt a lot of people would find the grey area in cheating, and there are other reasons as well.

I'm gonna go all biblical on yo asses with "judge not, lest ye be judged" (and I'm aware that's not entirely verbatim). People are individuals and have individual situations. I prefer to discover what they are before throwing around blanket judgement.

In answer to all the "if you aren't happy, leave"... sometimes life isn't that simple.

^^ I also find it quite alarming the intrusive and personal questions people feel able to ask about someone's relationship that they would never answer themselves. It's one thing if the person has asked for advice entirely another if you just want to use the answers as a stick to beat them with

Cheating is just bad on you and the partner. If a woman cheats she's more likely to give her affections too meaning the past relationship is dead. Once a girl loses interest in a guy to a point of even cheating there's saving that relationship xx don't hate me for this but it's my believe,no point in chasing but it's been done before

I think some people would cheat no matter how good they have it & some wouldn't cheat no matter how tough they have it.

People are different ,some do it as they want to escape their unhappy lives but don't dare tell their partners the truth,so cheat and hope to get caught.

Some do it because they're greedy and the opportunity is there ,I've seen people write on their profiles that they get sex at home but want extra.

we don't know people's lives and on here we usually only get one side of the story .

I'll be honest the just wanting extra one really doesn't sit well with me ,potentially breaking their partners hearts for more sex. That goes for both males and females .

My sentiments exactly. Mitigation etc. For some on here it's black or white no in-between.

People are complicated, situations are complex. Some are obviously just arseholes who shag around with utter disinterest in who gets hurt (looking at a certain prime minister, and closer to home one of my own blood relatives). Some others are basically good people trapped in circumstances where there is no perfect path and they are just attempting to find some moments to make life bearable while desperately trying to avoid hurting ones that they love. And a million shades in between.
