Flat chested women athletes

Looking at the lady athletes (esp beach volleyball & running), they are all so incredibly flat chested. I could compete with some of them on cup size, and I'm a fella. Is it training that inhibits breast size, or were they flat to start with?

Many will be using compression sports bras to keep their boobs out of the way. You'll probably find they do have bigger boobs than you realise, if they didn't have the compression garments on.

Esther way, calling a woman flat chested is a bit wrong from my perspective...

Its a national disgrace!!! Women athletes should be forced to wear 1/4 cup push up balconette bras and gstrings and have to run in 6 in stilletos - then watch the viewing figures go up and they can get more money from sponsors too!!! Its a win for all parties!!

Genetics and Fat is what determines the breast size.

Fat plays a big part in the breast tissue(size) and density of them.

Hence why sports people and athletes tend to have small boobs!

There are bigger chested athletes, such as Serena Williams. Who, incidentally, has far larger breasts than her sister, Venus, but is far from fat. She's just well endowed. She has been pretty vocal in the past about her struggles to contain her breasts when competing. I believe she now benefits from custom designed sports bras that she has helped to design.

Before the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, a number of British athletes in different disciplines benefited from bespoke sports bra design and technology, which they say has improved their sporting output.

A fairly slim woman will be in the 30-35% body fat range and an athlete will be about half of that. As others have said the compression bras will also make a difference so they will appear, as you say, flat chested.

I think some people are only watching certain sports. If you wish to see larger chested lady athletes, you might find what you're looking for in the ladies discus or shot putt. The winner of the ladies Commonwealth gold for discus, a lady from Nigeria. There are plenty of larger chested athletes, just maybe not in beach volleyball or whatever.

A lot of it will be down to body fat like someone above said. When I was a size 16/18 I had a huge rack lol now that I’m only a size 8 my chest is much smaller!

Under these circumstances, when referring to female athletes...I wouldn't use any expression to describe their chest, but in general "small breast". That's just me though, people can say what ever they want, and if women are ok with being called "flat chested " , that's up to them

I suppose when you reduce your over all body fat, you definitely would lose it on your boobies as majority of it is made of fat.

I think a lot of these athletes actually have them removed for performance reasons. Reduced weight, increased aero etc.

And so letches maybe don't fixate on their bodies and maybe recognise their skills as highly trained athletes.

I’m much happier with a smaller chest, they sagged when they were large and now they’re pert

I’m pretty content with my current body shape
