A remake of Roadhouse ???

Cheeseville, Somerset

Just heard on the radio that there's going to be a remake of the Patrick Swayze classic 80's cheesefest that is 'Roadhouse'.

And not only that - but apparently Connor McGregor is going to be making his acting debut in it! (Double )

Now WTAF ?????

1. Roadhouse is a classic. Do't do it. A remake will end up being a bag of shit

2. Did they not look at previous films where sports starts have 'acted' (in the loosest sense of the word?). Think Beckham in the Guy Ritchie 'Robin Hood' flick or Pele in 'Escape to Victory'. Shockingly bad. OK - Lebron James was quite good in Trainwreck and Tyson was funny in a 'my god he's so bad' way in The Hangover, but they were playing themselves. The best acting most sportsmen can do is rolling around on the floor pretending they've been tripped FFS!

Hollywood - stop messing with the classics you twunts and please - don't cast muppet sports people just to try and attract an audience. It sucks.

Rant over.

Fuck sake!

Some Hollywood exec’s have seen that Top Gun made a billion dollars and thought “what else’s can we resurrect from the 80’s”.

Is there any wonder cinema audience numbers are dwindling. Between ‘Remakes/reboots/rehashes’ and the now dull MCU/DC franchise takeover, there’s little film left for originality, or something a little different.

Carl Weathers was good though.

Apollo Creed, George Dillon, Chubbs Peterson - what a range.

I’m not really bothered about remakes but giving Conor McGregor more fame is ridiculous.

He’s a horrible human being and should stick to getting thrown round the octagon like a rag doll.

But that's the beauty of them - they were almost deliberately awful.

I really struggle to think of any 80's remakes that have been worth doing!

Footloose? Pure cheese with a great soundtrack and they royally fucked that up with the remake.

The Karate Kid? None of the heart that the original had.

Red Dawn? 100% camembert in its original form remade with more guns and explosions and even worse acting.

Total Recall? Annie has always been a caricature on screen but that was his beauty. Colin Farrell was crap and the special effects took over as always with sci-fi/action remakes.

And don't get me started on Ghostbusters.........

Cobra Kai has done a good job following on from The Karate Kid.

All ready working on him getting ousted from the roll for a tony Ferguson ass kicking

But the problem is I have kind off used up my yearly favours with the powers at be this year

I assume Conor McGregor will beat up harmless old men in the film like he did when they refused to drink his whisky.

Ferguson is a good fight for him to take. Both lost a lot recently but Ferguson is a lot tougher than him.

Bham

It's starring Jake gyllenhall. Conor McGregor you would assume will be another one of the bouncers or will have a fight with the bouncers. It's not like he's carrying the movie.

Well that was my logic behind it but as sed I used up my favours for the year with pushing extra bonus and a fight no one wanted

Tony bellow was in creed. But I don’t really thing he did much acting, just had to pretend he was punching which is basically what he does in the ring.

Roadhouse was pure rubbish tbh. Patrick swayze could not act. He was 1 dimensional at best. Reminds me so much of Nicolas cage

But that was what 80's cheese was all about.

Now it's just big budgets, special effects, CGI and no humour.

Yes - Nicholas Cage is crap these days but he was awesome in Con Air, Face Off and Gone in 60 Seconds, because again - they were cheesefests.
