Change of Scene?

So, I'm bored and ready for a change of scene away from the South East. Where is the happiest place to live in the UK for a guy who likes girls, guys and everything in between and beyond?

Somewhere that has a bit of a hippy bohemian vibe but doesn't cost the earth to live?

I'm feeling vibes from Newcastle, Cardiff and Bristol at the moment. What do you guys think? What are these places like for a guy who likes a bit of a scene? Anywhere else I should consider?

Portsmouth

I've been to Cardiff a few times now and absolutely love it! It's so diverse and friendly. I would hand considered a move if it wasn't so expensive! Maybe one day ...

It's been a few years since I've been to Cardiff but I did enjoy my time there. There did seem to be a nice friendly vibe about it. I haven't looked into how expensive it is to live there though?

Can't go wrong with the Midlands, not far from anywhere in the Midlands

South Wales

I’ve always fancied visiting Brighton as that is supposed to be quite a carefree hippie (ish) vibe. Plus they have lots of second hand shops I think, I’d enjoy the browsing.

Expensive to live there though I think?

Hmm, but where in the midlands? West Midlands, East Midlands, Mid-Midlands? Birmingham seems a cool city whenever I've visited but a bit expensive.

I would love to live in Brighton but it's just too expensive and I think I'd get annoyed with the tourist traffic, lol.
