Random question to the nation but for those who are on dating sites - do you expect the communication to be vastly different on here as it would on pof or tinder? Trying to work out how varied the approach is….:

I actually try to communication similar on all three platforms but doesn’t seem to be working ??

Think of it like this no matter where you are chatting with someone they are still a human being and the approach would be the same within that

Type "fancy a fuck" a lot, I'm sure you'll get a reaction.

That’s the way I do approach it but wondering if a more direct approach is preferred in here. Just trying to work out what is best. I try to type specific messages depending on the profile and if I think there is a possible connection

Not on date sites

But if I was yes on date sites I would be looking to date I would be looking for a long term partner

On here it’s about sexual compatibility

I expect the person to message me in the context of what is on my profile, same as on here.

If your apporach is respectful, thoughtful and well mannered then just stick to that.

Communication on a dating site? What's that?

When I was on a dating site, if someone spoke to me there like some do here, they'd get blocked. Dating messages should be about getting to know each other on a social level, not a sex level.

Ditto this. Be open, authentic, friendly, & whats for you, will find you. First impressions are everything so profiles, pics & initial messages matter. Laughter is the best ice breaker & friendship glue. Good luck

I get that. But just wondering whether a nicer, warmer message in here is the way forward or if people prefer a more direct approach. I’ve tried mixing it up but my natural reaction and gut is to try and be more respectful to start a convo.

I react better to a nice warmer message on here. One that shows you've read my profile, not just looked at my photos

I agree but I'd still expect a respectful message either way. 'Fancy a f*ck tonight or tomorrow' from a blank profile, gets an instant delete from me.

Yeah, I don't respond well to that either.

Remember everyone is different but still deserve the respect if someone doesn't like something about either the profile or pictures it might not lead to a connection but words are very powerful

Count Your Blessings Cottage, Gratitude Grove

Men are a nightmare to message people online, it’s all about them, they can’t be arsed to make conversation and think a response is a one word answer or an emoji

Those that do message make it all about THEIR sexual needs zzzz

I'm the same person here and on dating sites. Why do I deserve less respect on this site? I just don't understand the logic. People are not objects.

I'm not on any social media except here, hence my experience is limited. I approach a person as a person. I find that the same social graces and decorum when conversing with someone in 'real world' works very well in the virtual one also.

I agree with sinlingerie. Being yourself without any pretentious wording goes along way. Someone who can make me laugh definitely keeps me interested.
