Do you shower in the morning or before sleep? Which is more sanitary?

I usually shower in the morning and after sex. I think it's a preference, I shower in the morning so I don't stink at work. After sex for obvious reasons. I know many people though who think it's gross to go to sleep without showering because they don't want to sleep in their dirt and sweat.

What do you do?

Depends on what I am doing, the weather etc. Usually both. In extreme heat and when on holiday, sometimes more even uf its just a rinse before jumping in the pool or getting rid of the sand as nobody want sand up the ...

I don’t feel right if I don’t start the day with a shower.

Night time shower if it’s been a particularly muggy or strenuous day (but always shower before bed whenever I put fresh sheets on)

Wakes you up and feel clean and ready for the day

As others, 2nd shower after sex or if it’s been really warm. Meant to help you sleep / cool down after a hot day too, so was handy the other week

Always a bath (for leg shaving purposes) or shower (for hair washing purposes) in the morning. I'll have one after work too if it's been a particularly hot or muddy day. I couldn't leave the house in the morning without washing first, even if I've had a shower the night before. I'd be too stinky.

2. After gym/sports

3. After sex (this is typically in the morning, following the night before)

4. After self-loving (typically, the same as 3.)

5. At some point on the weekend, (usually a Sunday, early evening) there’s a proper get body groomed type session where I’ll shave/trim what needs sorting, make sure nose, ears etc are up to standard etc

I probably smell, feel and taste the yummiest on a Sunday evening FYI

As in most aspects of my life, I don't have a rigid rule that I adhere to; my last job left me utterly filthy at day's end, so bathing was a necessity.

The bath water word visibly change colour, I was so dirty.

If it has been an exceptionally sticky night and I meeting someone, I will shower.

Flexibility is the key!

Female here. I shower mornings before work and normally when I get home or before bed. If I am going out I will sometimes have three or four showers in one day! Depends how hot it is and if I have been playing

I couldn't leave the house and mingle with people if I hadn't a shower in the morning, even if I have a shower or a bath before bed I wouldn't feel fresh at all.

Research indicates that, at the peak of the covid pandemic restrictions, the frequency with which people bathed or showered declined VERY markedly.

In my own case, there was a period when I had neither a full bath nor a shower for about three months; I did wash, but just at a sink.

The reason: I wasn't meeting anyone, and more importantly my daily mood was significantly lower.

I suspect many of those isolating felt similarly low in mood.

This topic is interesting as it's about health.some say showering at night is better because you come in from school college uni or work or an outing and you scrub off the sweat but it's different in various cultures .In some afro carribean cultures we wash at night and wash our face in the morning and go out to our external locations I think if you're caucasian you wash in the morning and wash your face at night but look long at this thread,that tends to vary.who agrees

Strange how it's not been much more than my lifetime since a time when no one had showers and a bath was a once a week treat to now people genuinly believing anything less than 2 showers a day is unhygienic. No wonder they're taking about household energy bills in the thousands, you lot must need a North Sea gas rig on your own.

Sadly we don't have a shower, just a bath. I'll bath most days, the time depends what I'm working, when I'm running and what my social plans are.

I'd be the same as this. Although I do suppose it depends on the suitation. Like maybe see during the day and I got quite sweaty. Then needed to go somewhere. I'd grab a quick shower to freshen up.
