"your energy. So we all have them. Days when we're feeling more alert, high on life. Other days when we're in a lower mood/slump. Do you find it easy to listen to your body and change what you're doing? How do you manage it? " Generally? Coffee. Lots of it. There are certain responsibilities that are 7 days a week and even if I'm feeling like I've been hit by a train and awake for a month, still need doing. Not that healthy I know but it works. The high energy days frustratingly seem to come when I have no real plans, nothing scheduled and logically should be used for rest and relaxation, but invariably I find myself either stressing because I'm looking for things to do that aren't there, or I end up sofa bound spending time on here or binge watching box sets. My body is a dick. It usually decides to feel the opposite of how it needs to on any given day. A

"Life is just a series of peaks and troughs, and you don't whether you're in a trough until you're climbing out, or on a peak until you're coming down. And that's it, you know, you never know what's round the corner. But it's all good. "If you want the rainbow you've got to put up with the rain". Do you know which "philosopher" said that?" Sometimes I really miss your wise words E. It is all good. And yep, the great bapped philosopher of love, work and being true to yourself.

"I can turn my energy up. I can’t help it dropping into a downer, but I can turn it up when needed, I just imagine all the good positive stuff or people around me. And that’s another thing, I feed off peoples energy like others will. You have good times with good people. Which also means people can drop my mood pretty quickly too. " Yes I get this but (and it's easier said than done) maybe we shouldn't let others hold the cards to our moods. Sure, we're human but why let it be detrimental and be such a big effect? Value ourselves a bit more, understand that people have moods that aren't our responsibility or fault and embrace how we feel without feeling beholden to another's whims. I definitely feed off energy from another. Can allow myself to be meh'd because of another's behaviour but it doesn't serve me. It's something I'm working on clearly and struck a chord!

Tricky if it's your significant other that your talking about as you will always try to help raise their energy levels and mood because you love them, but even with them it can be good to occasionally just let someone dwell, work out their own mood and deal with it in their own way, as trying too hard or attempting help in the wrong way can certainly have the opposite effect to the one desired. Just be there if needed. A

Knowing that you don't have to fix things and just as you sit with things, sometimes others need to, it's important that you don't become an emotional sponge. I do try and be there for people and probably err on the must fix line but getting better at stepping away and letting people navigate their own emotional wellbeing with out my well intentioned waffling check ins. ![]()

"My way of being productive is erratic to say the least. The more I need to do the more efficient I am. I definitely have cycles which I now listen to more. In a month I have 2 weeks where I'm most productive and the other 2 aren't. So I now work to that timetable. If I need to get something done when I'm not really in the mindset for it. I'll pop on music, go for a walk and then get it done. And not be to harsh on myself if it's not what I deem perfect. " You don't need to be perfect. Not everything needs to be done perfectly. No one is perfect. And it's nigh on impossible to hold yourself up to a ridiculous standard and be perfect all the time. Have you read up on a woman's cycle and the effect it has on the body/mood etc Frida? I'm guessing you have.

"I dont get as giddy as i used to i try exhaust myself thru the week by staying busy otherwise i bounce around like a tommyspinner bouncing off walls so end up going for a drive and overthinking my past " There's not one way to answer, Inevitable, on the fora. Ever. ![]()

And I can predict fairly accurately when my most productive days are and those that are not. So if I have to for example give an important talk, I try and schedule it on one of those days. For me personally learning about my cycle has been a massive game changer.

I do similar - schedule certain things (like discussing courses, salary, owner meetings) on certain weeks because I know that I'll be performing better, able to think more clearly and be the more optimized version of myself. I know that the next few days are definitely a certain stage of it so I'm organising a last minute shopping trip with a good friend, booked a gym class... small things that go with my natural state rather than fight against it.
