Has anyone used one of those mobile oven clean vans that take your oven out, clean it in the van and put it back? Are they any good? It's not for me but an elderly friend I tried to help out but I could not shift some of the old burns especially on the glass using a oven clean kit I bought.

I dont think they take them out, they'd need to have a gas safe certificate to do that unless its electric, plus mines got a sealant round the edges...think most do it in situ...?

It is electric and I believe that's what they do but might be wrong

I paid for someone to clean the oven in the house i bought and was astounded at the results.. It was like new!

Definitely worth the money.. But get a professional.. They know what they are doing.. And those chemicals are not to mess with and also need disposing of responsibly!

That's great. I will look into doing that as its a good expensive oven

They don't remove the oven. They use highly caustic chemicals that most people either can't buy or can't use safely to clean the oven and glass.

My mum used to get this done. It's well worth it

They dismantle what they can and take it out to their van.

yes and the price seems quite reasonable considering they apparently spend 2 to 2.5 hrs on the job.

Next Door

I have mine done annually.

He takes the racks etc out and puts in the tank in the van.

Costs £50.

The cooker is over 20yrs old, everything still works fine. Replaced the oven element a few times

It’s the one job I truly despise, and will happily get someone in to do it for me.

Yes and you're giving someone employment. It's a win/win situation
