We don't have a dog but we do have a cat. We say goodbye when we leave and hello when we come home it's the 1st thing we always do.

I tuck them into bed, kiss each of them and say goodnight. Then I go to work another night shift. I actually only work nights because of my dogs. I work whilst they sleep and home all day with them after the wake. Suits me and saves a ton on doggy day care.

Lol same as me then. I just think it's not good to leave a dog indoors by themselves for over 8hrs a day, several days per week.

My 11 year old. Had a life limiting immune system disease and has daily steroids. Need to tell her it's life limiting

The 8 year old has pancreatic cancer. They think...

I just feel if I didn't say that one night and came down to a death I'd never forgive myself.

Your cat blanket is cute, the thi gs we do for our darlings hey

Lol. My 3 cats always get a rub each before I go to work. And all three come running over from different directions when I get home and all 3 cats lie on their backs to show me their bellies. Bob.

I used to with my dog and I left the radio on

It’s a signal to your pet that you are leaving the house and they will be on their own. Some will treat it as down time to rest, some will treat it as time to wreck your house! for some it’s a time of stress, fear or separation anxiety

Have any of you ever left a camera running to see how your pet reacts when you leave or what they do throughout the day

Although I hope none of you leave them for long periods. Any pet left for any length of time should be walked as soon as you can after you get home to stretch their legs and for their mental health too! Pets get depressed as well

I don't have a dog any more but when I did I would always tell him I was going out, say goodbye and remind him to be good while I was gone. Then when I got home I'd shout "only me!" as I opened the door, just in case he was worried it was a dognapper. He never seemed too worried but he wasn't one to show deep emotion so I was never sure.
