We don’t need to compare them. It’s great for women’s football and will hopefully get more women/girls into playing the game.

Good for them. Not something I want to watch but good that plenty do.

Hope they enjoy without all the beer swilling drug crazed twats who spoil the men's version of any match at Wembley.

Nobody is forcing them to go. People have chose to go. Even if tickets are a quid each they have still paid to watch it. More eyes on the women’s game can only be a good thing.

So what.? Even if its true. Family day out that is affordable? You think 500 quid a ticket is reasonable.? To go and sit in a seat some yahoo has crapped in? I'd rather see a full stadium than the empty ones like at the commonwealth games.

Why does it seem to exercise you so? Who cares? It's a cheap day out and might inspire others to take up a bit of activity.

I'd rather lie in a pool of pish but I think for once it's a sporting event that isn't ripping people off and might inspire more healthy movement. The mens game should try and match the pricing.

Of course it’s to do with football! I love football but I have no interest in women’s football as it seems you don’t either. It’s still a good thing though and many people will be going and watching it for the football. Seems to me you’re just trying to wind up and waiting for people to bite.

Well it’s not exactly £5 is cause for a start there would be at least one child and one adult so that’s already more then there’s travel food drink programs. Not sure the last time you went Wembley but last time I went couldn’t get a drink or food under £6 a item. People are going cause they want to watch it and yes it being cheaper has opened it up to more I say well done to them

For that. A lot of people are going cause it’s a historic moment to and want to be a part of it.

Come on England is what I say

It was £25-£30 for both of us. I guess the £120 we spent on the latest shirt, the £15 for travel, the £30 on food and drinks don’t count either.

I’ve made my feelings clear on the difference in standards between the men’s and women’s game on another thread but I’m seeing plenty of people on social media and in real life thoroughly enjoying the Euros. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean others don’t.

The Lioness's games have been very entertaining and we are full of hope that we can win. Tickets would have been nice but they sold out quick. Not surprising when 9 million watched their last match.

Do they make the sammiches for the crowd at half time?

Do they iron their shirts before they swap them?

Do they have an early kick off because they got to get home to put the dinner on and bath the kids?

Why would be going anywhere to watch sport be free? I went to Derbyshire Cricket Ground on Monday night to watch England Ladies beat South Africa Ladies, it cost me £15 to get in and £6 a pint, worth every penny in my opinion

If you want something for free, then borrow your neighbour's dog and watch some kiddies football at your local park

It's this and I'm sick of it with women's sports. Girls/women have far lower participation levels and so seeing high level women's sports on TV, getting recognition etc can only be a positive thing to encourage wider participation.

But some people would rather see women tied to the kitchen sink or something, instead of whacking balls to boundaries or back-heeling them neatly into a goal

I have no interest in women's football.

Each to their own, if you're interest have at it.

I would personally prefer if it wasn't so actively forced, like on the BBC football page, it doesn't have league one stories on the main feed, if you want league 1, you go to that section.

However, they do mix in the women's game with the main feed.

There are two types of football fans ...

The John Motsons. Never played the games Couldn't kick a ball. But can name every player and obscure stat going.

And those that stop and watch any game on their dog walk. Will spend hours working out the true route cause of a goal (hint: it's often someone not doing their job away from the play). But not give two hoots about the players and how much they cost.

Women's football appeals more to the second imo.

(This may be slightly baity. Am I showing you the ball to go for it ... Or have I lost control?)

If I were a sponsor of the event, I wouldn't care what price the tickets were sold at. I'd be focusing on how many people saw my branding. A sold-out Wembley, at whatever price of entry, are enough eyeballs for me to sponsor a little more next time. Same with televising rights and so on.

The reason tickets are cheaper is because they want the bums on seats, men’s football didn’t start off with packed stadiums did it? And also it grew in an era when women weren’t allowed to do anything at all, I’ve watched most of the England women’s games and they have played exceptionally well and the argument about the different in quality between women’s and men’s is dead, they are so genetically different in terms of physical attributes that it doesn’t even warrant consideration, the women play well get more people watching thier games and that equals higher wages for them and a step up in grass roots support to help all girls grow up realising they can do it too, it should be supported by everyone and to compare the two sexes is ridiculous, those female players in that pitch have had to endure injuries loss, hours and hours of training and sacrifice along with thier families to get them to where they are now and that in itself should be encouraged supported and we should be proud of thier efforts

"I don't like any kind of football find it boring

So you’re just posting this for the reaction. Got ya. the question was would people watch woman's football if the ticket prices were the same as mens

The answer is some men can't handle women doing well in THEIR sport.

"

And this too

Errr no. Women's football is womens football and stands on its own. The one thing it definitely isn't is men's football. Its two sports. Both are doing OK.

"Why do you care so much?

Or is this a lame attempt to court controversy and conflict?

It's this and I'm sick of it with women's sports. Girls/women have far lower participation levels and so seeing high level women's sports on TV, getting recognition etc can only be a positive thing to encourage wider participation.

But some people would rather see women tied to the kitchen sink or something, instead of whacking balls to boundaries or back-heeling them neatly into a goal "

Lets encourage more girls and women into sport and activity.

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't, there's lots of people in this world and they aren't all narrow minded

Me too, I've never really payed attention until this tournament because the football was lacking quality but it's better now

sw. london

never had interest in foot-the-ball or football culture but tuned in to the quarter final and then the semi. and i enjoyed it

most all of the elements in the mens game that i don't like were absent, the atmosphere was positive and joyful and i saw goals that made me smile, competitive games and lots of splendid ponytails swishing about

I'll watch the final if i can and hope the story ends well for the england women x

also, i have female friends that play so finally i have footie related conversation yay

Women can and do drive in motor racing, alongside men.

Why are they called lionesses? It was deemed misogynistic to call female actors actresses?

If you called them Lions it would imply they are male? This is how fucked up we have become.....
