Based on a novel called Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky and a loose basis for the video game series of the same name.

Newborn porn. I couldn't believe it. Despite everything, it was actually a well acted and well crafted film I thought.

Going down a different route.... The Fountain is a film I like to watch. So many different layers. Of course, casual viewers will dismiss it as a load of nonsense.

"Night Of The Demon "

It’s Black & White mate

Great recommendation though

Streets of Fire, Michael Pare, Diane Lane, Rick Moranis and Williem Dafoe. Great soundtrack, 50s style with an 80’s attitude. Kissing in the rain, boy saves girl, tough talking, fights with axes, motorbikes and Rock n Roll.

Cult film directed by Walter Hill.

What’s not to like

"Norwegian film called The Wave, a good watch"

There's also a terrific 2008 German film The Wave (Die Welle) about a school project that gets out of hand.

The Spirit of the Beehive, a magical 70s Spanish film.

There was a dog in the book, but it wasn't his. If anything, the book's dog story is even more heartbreaking.

Oh, forgot Bone Tomahawk. A western of a VERY different kind. Once seen, never forgotten.

If you’re bringing Hammer Films into the equation then surely Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter is also worth a watch.
