"Protests are over the Drag Queen Story Hour UK, a 'show' being presented to young kids in libraries. It's open to question whether it's harmless pantomime knockabout or something more sexualised. What to say to a 5-year-old who asks "Why is that man wearing ladies clothes Mummy?"" The reply to the 5yo is "there's no such thing as men's or women's clothes, the man is wearing clothes he likes and is comfortable in, just like you." My 5yo daughter has a friend at school (a boy) who likes to wear pink, skirts and make up. She's perfectly okay with that, as are the whole of their class. This boy has attended birthday parties in his pink clothes and everyone has just joined in together happily. I hope this continues as they get older.

"Imo Pantomimes are a lot of fun for kids but drag shows are completely unsuitable for children and to me there is a very unsavoury political agenda to this kind of thing. " Nothing political about it but I do know a lot of women are against drag shows because of how they portray women.
